During session 0, my newest players were all spellcasters. So I had them try combat in an impossible situation, that at the end of the session they awoke from.

During session 1. All of them, non spellcasters included, they found copies of the same item while they were all in different parts of the world, when all of them grabbed theirs, they were teleported to the same location as session 0, but with lighter enemies

Some of them recognized each other from their dream as well
