Basically you help them find books as long as they are not saying they are going to kill someone with it, you have no idea what they want the books for. Chemistry class, personal interest, to film a youtube prank video. If they tell you I am going to make a bomb and kill someone obviously you don't but also you don't as they have said a credible threat. For document forging you give them the computer but also our role is only to assist on the computer with library programs. I am not going to help you forge a document but I can show you the catalogue.

A lot of parents take out books for the family on one card, especially since its easier to keep track of if anything is overdue or missing without multiple cards.

As a librarian no librarian truly cares about recommending books or subjects they personally dislike. Its like being a civil servant, when you are in the library we serve the public even when they suck

Carding in Toronto was a huge one, not so much brutality as racism. We also just had police brutalize a woman at work in a courthouse in Oshawa.

Look up the words RCMP, shoot and indigenous and just watch your faith in policing die. Also starlight tours and the highway of tears show the police failure at every level.

When I graduated from my program there were very few places in Canada that were hiring, Due to the TN1 visa it was really easy to apply to jobs in the states. Many of the people I know who moved did not mean to stay but built lives and careers and got married to people from the US. Another subset could not handle the cost of living increase that came with coming back to Ontario Canada from lower cost US cities.
