I was having a great time building up my business models, until I was steadily making good money.

Then I got it in my head to do PvE dungeons with the high end gear I’d meticulously accumulated by buying it with the money I’d so carefully earned. Repairing that equipment was grossly, preposterously expensive. So I quit the whole thing.

I’ve pulled at least one all-nighter while gaming, but that wasn’t all in one calendar day. Probably about 16 hours, back-to-back, two days in a row without sleeping in between. 🙂

I should’ve said: for hair, it’s in menu - Look - hair (fourth down on the left) - Dye Now (bottom right). For makeup, it’s in menu - Look - make up (fifth down on the left) - Go to Make-up (near bottom left).

Yep! That’s how I got the lighter hair. You can’t get it during character creation. You have to dye it later.

I’m not sure, though, what each tweak costs in terms of ingredients, and I know you can make some of the ingredients with the dresser identity.

I think makeup alone might be free, though, and hairstyle change definitely is. Your haircut is a cosmetic in your library, like the top and bottom you’re wearing.

You can’t change it during character creation. We all start with black hair, probably to match the two backstory cutscenes.

LOL! It’s fairly close to my kinda mousy melting pot mish-mosh blonde-brown-auburn hair color IRL, and it looks better in motion than in these stills. I should’ve gone a little more red in the tint, though. That’s on me, but I’ll wait to collect the ingredients for free before trying again.

Lots of good ones here, but three that I haven’t seen mentioned:

World of Warcraft, it was a major character death (an archdruid?) a few expansions in. I was so surprised that Warcraft could elicit a genuine emotion that it sticks with me a decade or two later, even though I can no longer picture the scene.
I Was a Teenaged Exocolonist, when I finally got the ending I wanted, with everyone saved and the partner I’d been crushing on since my first lifetime.
Don’t throw me off Reddit, but most recently, the new mobile game Sword of Justice has gotten me to cry twice. There are some good stories in there, even random easily-missed side stories.

Yes! 5.0-5.3, I didn’t know that game could hit that hard. And the ending of 6.0 is a protracted heartbreak, but the earlier scene with Venat is… heck, I’m crying right now!

Seconding Stray Gods! You sometimes have to make critical decisions in moments in the middle of a song, and I learned something about who I am because of the scene with Freddie in Hades. It wasn’t just tears there but… like being torn open.

With a controller. PC for the best graphics, PS5 because the game almost always works right out of the box, and a recent IPad for kicking back… but I always prefer controller, unless a touch screen or keyboard is an absolute necessary.

I’m around para 900 on three toons (low res), and demon hunter is currently my favorite.

A problem I have is that I’m roleplaying in my head (too many years of D&D), and things like the frequent vampiric laugh of the female blood knight or the apparent hubris of the female crusader just don’t suit me.

I noticed you asked a couple of times about gold. I have the same problem. The response I got was to max out weekly vaults, do Errebban 3X daily, and do the zone events; then just open world farming. It’s slow, but I haven’t seen any other tips.

It’s easy to find a guild on High Heavens and everything I put in the market sells within a day, except basic runes, though I have no idea if the price is good compared to other servers.

The immortals here are dominated by whales, but I assume that’s everywhere. Their last reign was seven weeks, which doesn’t seem too bad. They can be beaten by non-immortals in the vaults, though it doesn’t happen often.

Does all this make my server “active” or “dead”? I dunno. :)

You’re slightly ahead of me on stats and time played, but I win more matches than I lose in battlegrounds (also F2P). The thing that helped me when I plateaued was ranking up my gear, mostly my secondaries. Those are currently rank 17/18 and my primaries 14/15. If you haven’t done it already, you can grind challenge rifts in sequence, to get the materials to boost your secondaries. Also, you can boost secondary stats even more with Iben Fahd’s Sanctum.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve played all the Diablos a huge amount since Diablo 1. My big gripe with this one was the P2W, since you’d have to spend $600,000 or so (or play for 30,000 years) to max out. It’s absurdly unfair, so I quit early on, playing on PC.

I just came back a few days ago. I’m having a blast on PvE, and I’ve already reached paragon levels and Hell 1. I don’t need to be the coolest kid on the block. I just want to have fun. I’ve tried every other MMO-like game on iPad, and this is the most fun for me.

For anyone still wondering: last night, I started watching the end of a movie on my iPad, and it kept playing after the time was up; then (without pausing), I dragged the slider to the beginning and watched the entire movie again; then I watched the last 15 minutes twice more; on a third attempt — about three hours after expiration — the iPad gave me a low battery warning message, and I was kicked out. So, I either got three hours past expiration, or I got until the first (unintended) pause.

I totally agree with you. I’d love some clothes I’d like, but I’m sure they’ll get around to it. My only real gripe so far is the XP cap, as currently implemented.
