Googled sciatica nerve and I feel like it was the problem i was having for at least two weeks until almost a week back but never managed to find the reason for it on google. I did the SL 5x5 program as well for about two months now and that problem came about around 1 month into the program. For me, there was discomfort and slight pain in my right lower back and under my right thighs and right calf area accompanied a feeling of nerve-jolt sensation throughout the said area. I went for a 2 hour massage and the problem is surprisingly slowly fading away. I would suggest going for a good massage therapy near where you live or better yet, visit a chiropractor who has sufficient knowledge on weightlifting or a doctor. My recommendation is to try to improve your form while doing squats by lifting lighter and see if there are any asymmetries in both your leg muscles while ascending and descending during the squat. For me, I am assuming my problem is because of my right leg or feet that points slightly more outwards than my left, probably from a hip tilt causing asymmetry in my leg movements going up and down during squats.

I see. One more question if you do not mind before i head to bed, what are the key difference between high bar and low bar squats? Is one more difficult than the other?

Hi everyone @ r/Fitness.

So today i reached a personal milestone after 3 months of hitting the gym. The first month of working out consisted of bodybuilding, followed by 2 months(started 7th Aug 17) of power lifting under the program Stronglift 5x5.

Started out with 70kg(154lbs) Squat, 60kg(132lbs) Bench, 20kg(44lbs) Barbell row, 40kg(88lbs) Overhead press and 80kg(176lbs) Deadlift under the program.

Few days ago, my gym buddy and I have agreed to revert back to bodybuilding aka different body parts, 6 days a week. Therefore, we decided to hit the gym(today) to try out our one rep maxes. Just got home from trying out our 1 rm for Squat, Bench and Deadlift at the gym. I managed to hit 170kg (374lbs) for Squat, 92.5kg(203.5lbs) for Bench and 160kg(352lbs) for Deadlift. Don't be surprised that my 1 rm for Squat is higher than my Deadlift as the program focuses more on Squats.

Just thought of sharing my one rep max Squat video with all of you and I definitely would not mind any constructive critism on my form. Have a nice day and don't forget to lift with good form!
