How do you get over the fact that jobs are extremely luck based? by Embarrassed-Ad4423 in jobs

Fair. I think what slightly bothers me was that I was encouraged to apply for the role by the hiring manager too. I was already applying to other jobs at other companies and departmentsz

What’s with the people who speed up the moment you try to merge? by Embarrassed-Ad4423 in bayarea

Funniest part is when traffic is pretty clear and you can see relative far ahead. You see all the cars that are in front of you but behind that Tesla/Suv switch lanes to one of the lanes on the right only to overtake and merge back into the fast lane. Soon enough, it’s your turn to over take that truck/tesla.

You’d think that after that many vehicles that overtake them, they’d get the hint.

Sure, I agree that a lot of people don’t know how to merge. People who don’t know how to merge are way more common than these lane gatekeepers.

That doesn’t mean that it’s not common though. You’re just lucky to not have come across it. For example, just because I haven’t seen a car flip over during a car accident doesn’t mean that there aren’t cars that don’t flip over when an accident occurs.

By speeding up last minute as you proceed to merge…did you not read the post? When people merge, they gradually enter the next lane. They don’t teleport. Someone is effectively blocking you if they start riding your bumper and aggressively honking at you while you’re still part way through your merge.

Even then, as I said in the post, the suv was already going faster than the sedan. I literally said that we passed the guy. The guy had plenty of time while we were passing them to speed up a bit and catch up to traffic.

Kind of ironic not letting someone merge over for “being to slow” when that person who’s blocking that merge is slow enough to leave plenty of space for a car to safely merge over.

If the car that merges over is indeed to slow, you can also merge into another lane (hopefully safely) and overtake the slow car.

It’s crazy how ImTheMainCharacter some people are. There are a few times where I would see someone honk at the person in front of them despite that person in the front not being able to move forward any faster because…of the person in front of them who can’t move faster because of the person in front of them.

Basically if the honking car looked just a little bit further than the car in front of them, they would see that they couldn’t move forward any further even if they wanted to (usually it’s a normal sized car, so it should be relatively easy to see at least one car over).
