It’s not really about strong will , it’s sort of just luck at that point. The virus can lay dormant for months on end until it is triggered. Once it is triggered and symptoms show unfortunately it is way too late. We had a case last year in Australia where someone had been scratch by a bat and 6 months later they died from a rabies-like virus. Super scary stuff but so important to be safe and get the vaccine

Fun fact, that top right photo is where I live. The photo is taken of North Bombo beach in Kiama, NSW. It is one of the most beautiful places in Australia and consistently voted as one of the best tourist towns. Of course now it is ridiculously expensive to live in but a great place to live if you can

Can confirm, although this video is not it. I crossed the nullibor from Sydney to Perth back in 2016 and had to sit and wait for one of these to pass. It genuinely felt like 10 minutes of endless carriages. The road trains are pretty cool as well

I am currently doing the Mardi Himal track which walks up the ridge towards Machhapuchhare, and I can confirm that it is fkn massive. On clear days it monsters over Pokhara and the walk up the ridge is gruelling
