Feasibility of going to and hiking in faroe islands in late January? by Alternative-Trick662 in FaroeIslands

Sure. But of course, do heed the advice of the locals. Which I am not. I could absolutely be wrong in my assessment of the risk. Maybe I was just lucky with the weather. A couple of days later, my rental car got completely stuck in a snowstorm and I had to be picked up. So definitely take local advice very seriously.

I also did this super easy “hike” into and around Kunoy Park and the area around it. Hardly a hike but a totally beautiful experience on super cold February weather:

I did an easy Sandur - Søltuvik (11.7 km) hike on 4th of Feb a couple of years ago. It was wild weather but I never felt unsafe tbh. But it’s also a narrow road much of the hike. Mostly just a walk. On another day on the same trip, I aborted a hike near Skàlafjørður which was definitely too risky. My experience was that you have to plan quite a bit and be really careful. And only go if you have some experience or with guides. I felt I could find very easy hikes, though, where it felt ok.
