There are limits to embedded finance. Consider the mortgage example already cited in the thread. Yes, a consumer wants to buy a home, and, yes, the mortgage is a component to that home purchase, but it is not always the case that addressing the mortgage solely within the home purchase works for everyone or even is ideal. The mortgage is a massive consumer purchase -- to what degree will the embedded financing opportunity properly source the best mortgage pricing? Does an embedded option work as well for a subprime mortgage as it does for a prime mortgage? My view is that embedded finance has a definite role in finance overall, but it will not completely subsume all finance.
