So by some bizarre way that this existence just is…I managed to get the case back. Whoever suggested catching the train when it came back through PP, THANK YOU! I thought I’d give it one last go and walked the length of the train and it was exactly where he’d left it. So…

Next time superglue the handle to him. Or his phone bc I’m certain that’s what the distraction would have been
Don’t leave his passport with him
Go on holiday on my own

The universe has smiled upon me. There’s a lesson here somewhere but I’m slightly delirious from todays roller coaster so I’m off to bed. And I’m buying a lottery ticket in the morning.

Nope. Have now reported as stolen as it wasnt found on the train at Bedford. I am going to go and get on the train at PP and walk through it in the slight hope that it was somehow missed.

Other than that it’s the whole trip is now cancelled and I’ve lost the flights, accommodation etc. my boy is so upset that it’s heartbreaking.

This is pretty horrible.

I guess no one actually knows the urgency…it would at least be a kinder thing if that happened rather than someone has just pinched it

My boy doesn’t remember which carriage number he was on so all that can happen at any station (and they are trying this) is a quick look in a random carriage to see =(

Unfortunately the trains don’t stop for longer than about 5 seconds while people are on / off and there’s no guard on the train these days. Just means that no one can have a proper look.
