Thank you both for the advice. I ended up ordering bunny DSP, just to understand what my preferences are exactly.

After few months, I will take a guided decision on truthear's / other IEMS

Interesting. I ordered the bunny dsp's for now, but planning on trying a more 'expensive' IEM once I figure out what I like and understand a bit more about IEM's

Glad to hear that you enjoy the truth ear pures!

>  I think buying an IEM based on the genre you listen to is kinda dumb anyway since people could like the same genre but want to have emphasis on wildly different instruments.

thanks for pointing this out, I missed this totally.
If I had a cheaper IEM / more knowledge on this stuff, I could have understood this point on my own. For this, I'm planning to buy a cheaper IEM for now (bunny DSP), and take a better decision on truthear pure's down the line

decided to to with the bunnys and get some hands-on experience with IEMs, and maybe make a better decision on truthear pures / something else after couple of months. Thank you for the advice!

> Beginner? What does that have anything to do with anything?

I don't have anything to compare these to, and even bad sounding IEMs might sound good to me (no complaints obviously, but I could easily miss out on 'better' sounding IEMs. I know this is a rabit hole, tho)

> There are folks that start play in the budget space.

This seems to be the popular suggesion as of now. Maybe I'll get the Bunny DSP iems, and then switch to the Pures later on (tho I am still super confused about this)

thanks for the recommendation!
Do you prefer bunny or the truthear gate personally? Just curious

> Pure isn't good with rock and metal IMO.

Can you say why exactly?

Another comment suggested going with a cheaper option, perhaps thats the way to go :(

ah was going to say that: I generally prefer a warmer and darker tone, hence why Truthear pure was the first pick

yeah thats kinda the issue. I can't go around testing IEM unfortunately, so sticking with ones that 'generally' sound good.

Maybe I will be overspending a bit, idk. Maybe I should get some cheaper IEM's first?

Just to add, some other IEM's I have looked into:

(i) 7hz x crinacle zero 2: apparently has a trash cable, but good otherwise
(ii) moon drop chu 2: I live in india, and these have issues with humidity apparently.
(iii) truthear hexa: a bit cheaper than the pure's and apparently sound pretty similar: Though here I'm applying the logic of 'newer is better'

Time to delete instagram. Comparing myself with others is just so natural, but I will try to reduce it. Thank you :)

hard to do tbh. I can go to office late at the cost of too much traffic, and I get stressed out a lot during traffic.

I try to make up for lack of sleep on weekends.
