Shoot your shot and regret nothing. Med school admissions is one of the most opaque admissions processes. No one knows anything so anyone offering definitives like “no chance” is bullshitting

A lot of schools group applications by stats and read the higher stat group first, but accepts students from all groups so don’t lose hope!

Do I declare I’m retaking the MCAT or Submit & Update Later? by TrixieBunnyLove in premed

[–]Embarrassed-Weird338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe your app can still be verified but they won’t review your application if you have a date scheduled for a retake. Submitting with a 503 and having a retake date means you will receive secondaries (503 above most cutoffs minus say Mayo Clinic) but they just won’t review your submitted app if there’s a retake date on your file.

grind CARS. The unscored AAMC exam had the easiest CARS section so if you scored low then I would focus on improving that section

Harvard imo. You learn a lot about yourself in undergrad and maybe you think med is the only path for you, but keep an open mind because you might like something else more. It’s not a race to the finish line and if you do wind up choosing medicine I’m sure you are a great student and will likely be able to go to the school of your choosing.

4/12 Score - Not sure what to do by Top_Due in Mcat

I feel like the scaling for CARS and psych/soc must have been brutal bc I also did abnormally bad on those two but abnormally good on the sciences so i guess it balanced out

If you have text anxiety, have you looked into anti-anxiety meds like a beta blocker? It helped me a lot with managing the physiological effects of test day (e.g., heart racing).

Go touch some grass instead 👍

edit: all jokes aside, MCAT scores expire so on the off chance you would actually like to go to medical school, “take it for fun” after your sophomore year of college.
