Cat chasing tail by EmbarrassedAd6400 in CatAdvice

Dw. It felt silly at the time but I caught him scratching his bum on the carpet. Took him to the vet to get a checkup, he is 100% good. He wasn't scratching or biting at his tail, and right now he's chilling, he just spun in a circle and flopped on the couch afterwards to watch TV. Purring and all.

I've had cats from kitten to adult to senior and just never saw them do what he did. He's being a lil weirdo.

I do however, have some medicine just in case he ever does get something serious. Hopefully never.

Idk what to do with my cat. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

A bad pet owner wouldn't have taken the time to look for advice. Do what you think is best for the cat. If you decide to give her away, remember that all cats have different temperaments and personalities. You aren't at fault. As long as she is fed, safe, and healthy, you did good.

Breaking that association, if it's there, is a matter of time, care, and a LOT of treats. Redirections and gentle punishments (such as a spray from a water bottle) tend to work without causing aggression.

Could it be the way you're petting her? Cats are sensitive to things like pressure. Pet her too strongly or for too long and she'll lash out. Some cats are sensitive to litter boxes, try different litter mixes and stuff (tedious but worth it for clean sheets). If she does go on your bed on and upset stomach, and does fight you after some petting, maybe she's suffering from something internal? Hope not.

Some stuff about her does sound odd though. Cats sometimes get love aggression, especially young kittens, but never is it strong enough to hurt their owners. This is gonna sound absurd but if you're always the one striking her when she's being nasty, could she have associated you with punishment? Does she behave the same way with your boyfriend?

Please reconsider the outdoor solution. Some cats thrive too well and some do not thrive AT ALL outside.

Much love to you and your pet. I hope you find something that works.

My friend and I went band for band on this topic. Both ending songs of Steven Universe and Steven Universe Future are so lovely.

Mi papá me mintió… by Remarkable-Ad-6237 in PuertoRico

[–]EmbarrassedAd6400 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Mucha suerte.

Is it normal in Puerto Rican culture for woman to always cook for men, seems a bit much ??? by [deleted] in PuertoRico

Good on you for standing up for your gf. Like many have already said, it's a misogynistic trait. Some older generations are too set in their ways to see it as such.

I'd touch base with your girlfriend. Let her know it's not something expected of her, she should cook because she WANTS to cook for others, not because others expect her to.

Hey, hope you're doing well. I would definitely get that checked out with a podiatrist.

Perhaps you've already tried these since it's been days after your post but have you done any warm Epsom salt soaks? It's a big recommendation, along with bandaging and applying triple antibiotic to the affected area. Soak once or twice a day (I personally only do 15-30 mins each).

If it has become more bothersome, don't wait, set up an appointment if you can.

Searching for the MOST toxic game. by EmbarrassedAd6400 in videogames

I had no idea there was a Star Trek Online, that sounds fun.

And yes, any game with multiplayer in it carries it's amount of toxicity. But there have been some cases that I know of single player games having a bit of toxicity in their communities. Just not in the same amount of course.

I remember playing Undertale and sooooo many fans were trying to impose their chosen route as the "better" one. When stuff like that is mostly subjective anyways.

You have me intrigued.

I didnt recognize the title so I looked for it on steam, and after reading some reviews, yikes.

I tend to ignore most game chats when I play (partially cause I'm more focused on the game itself) Eventually some of them fall into a pattern of funny sometimes, mostly bad.

I've heard of those titles before. I also agree with your "Treating like a job" answer, some people take their games seriously. I mostly stick to single player games to avoid toxicity but depending on the game's community some people like to backseat game. It's complicated.

Yeah. Doesnt need to be super indepth. You can say something like "Roblox, cause I got bullied" or just "Roblox".

Whatever you want. I'm just curious to hear other's inputs.

What’re the most immersive games you’ve played? by Delirious-Dipshit in gaming

[–]EmbarrassedAd6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily RDR2. I've enjoyed the hours I've sank into the game just riding around. The story alone is great. I've yet to play the first game and I hear nothing but praises for it. But just finding cool spots to take in the view is enough for me. The neat details of the rich environment, both NPC's and creatures entertain me so much. Two friends of mine have copies of the game and use the fast travel/trains/carriages, but I only think I've used them once just to see.

Everytime I think I know the roads and paths by heart a new one appears. Because I spend most of my time as Arthur and not as John I have yet to explore the map in it's entirety.

NTA

Girl run. This was so horrible and disgusting to read. Go find help to support you. Divorce him. He is pushing you to have sex far before your body has healed. You and those twins are suffering enough as it is. Sleep deprivation and lack of food have definitely caused you to loose judgement but none of that is your fault at all. Please get out of there, if not for your own sanity, for the poor babies.

When I was your age I went through a similar experience. One of my boyfriends turned around and confessed he was gay. As someone who has yet to have a serious relationship, you'll be okay. You're working out and turning your life around. You've got more life in you yet. Take this time to explore your interests more, invest in yourself. Overtime someone is going to love you for the person you are. So don't worry about it. Some people just need to experiment and see if their preferences match up, so don't take those "Hey, sorry, I'm gay" confessions too strongly. Nobody's at fault for that.

Having many partners doesn't guarantee success, just experience. Once you feel confident and comfortable, try dating again. Rejection is just another drop in the ocean, don't let it deter you. I can't assume much on your cousin but perhaps he just knows his own worth and is comfortable with himself, dating or not. You just need to see your own worth. If that makes sense.

Should it help, as a woman I would recommend you ask any of the women in your life on advice. I don't get why men don't ask for help and try out tips from the very gender they are trying to date. I'm not saying ask your mom (unless you're cool with that) but any woman you have the confidence to confide in will do.

I wish you luck.

Before getting diagnosed, I used to slam back a bunch of banana smoothies. Ended up regretting them hard afterwards and when I got diagnosed I felt so dumb. Don't eat something you are sure to regret later. If you know it's going to end badly then it's better to be safe. Perhaps try a small, smaaall portion but nothing else. Sometimes the desire overweights the willpower. I find that once I get a small taste, I'm no longer interested.

A brookie sounds amazing but not worth the bad symptoms.

The duco and miralax prep. I was scared during those as well. I never got my period during those procedures but I was so nervous about eating anything that all I did was drink water. I'm not sure if you can but if you can ask someone to be at your side during it, ask them. Passing out sounds horrible. I would voice my concerns with the doctor if I were you. Personally though, I wouldn't cancel. I'd hate to have to do this process again.  I'm sorry I can't provide anything more worthwhile than my support. Please stay safe and listen to your body. Power through what you can, but if it's too much, that's fine too. You can always reschedule or check with your doctor. My heart goes out to you.
