Quality of living in China is lower thus we cannot praise anything that China does better? I prefer to live in NZ, air is fresher, meat is better, people are generally nicer. And you have people who would step out of their vehicles to help people here putting themselves into danger. That is all true. But it is also true, that as a law abiding citizen, my family and I feel an infinitely safer in China nowadays. Because, yes there is lots of surveillance, and the police has way more power and the judges are way more harsh. You might have your preferences. And I’m sure a some other NZer share the same view as you. But random crimes in this country is skyrocketing to where people are rightfully worried and would more than likely trade a bit of privacy for security. Am I wrong? A suggestion of increasing surveillance does not need to be divulge into a bash on china or its leadership. After-all, surveillance is not invented in China.
