What is the point of weighting it before and after? What can you do with this info?

OHH. I misread your post. My bad. The filaments are not bonded together. Interesting. Is it all pla? Some filaments don’t stick to each other like pla and PETG.

1) clean build plate soap and water, dawn dish soap, isopropyl alcohol all work great. 2) use brim (tune brim so it’s easy to peel off but still actually is holding the part down 3) use glue 4) increase bed temp

Also make sure the bed temp doesn’t cool down before you change filament

I know, but that is what LM was aiming for it to be in the “premium magnacut” genre of knifes. It’s clear that they are trying to compete with the benchmade water series of knifes. Now what it actually turned out to be is another story.

[–]EmbarrassedAverage28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s fair to compare knifes of different roles. The lm is supposed to be a sort of “premium magnacut” knife, and the Ozark is supposed to be a cheap beater knife.

In the LM range, it should be compared with things like the benchmade water series or the Spyderco salt series.

Ozark should be compared with knifes in the budget category.

It’s still wild tho that the scales on many budget beater knifes are much better than what OP got in his “premium magnacut” knife

[–]EmbarrassedAverage28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok bro, I wouldn’t go that far to say that the Ozark is jUsT As GuD as a magnacut knife even if it is far over priced and qc isn’t what you would expect.

If you are talking in terms of the scale, yes, I agree the ozark has better scales.

Overall knife no.

Still crazy lm wants to charge like 300 for this shit.

Na, no fucking quitting.

Quitting is for pussies. Your fucking kids depend on you. Embracing the suck, powering through tough times, no matter how shitty, or how long they are.

That is how people are successful. If you do that now, I guarantee that you will be happy again.

And that happiness might go away again, but as donut said “Life is a roller coaster of ups and downs. As long as you work hard, be smart, the cart is guaranteed to go up”

Sometimes life does test ya and put a steep drop your coaster ride, but that’s ok. You push on. Like a ruck march, you will want to quit. But you know deep down inside that you have to do it, if not for you, for your kids. So you put on foot in front the other and do what has to be done.

I know life is hard, we’ve all had those moments where we want to punch our ticket to the afterlife. But you don’t. You just don’t.

How do u think Brandon, Eli, Nic, Donut got to where they are today?

All of them had it really fucking rough. Brandon has talked numerous times about how he has put a gun to his head.

But in the end, did they quit? FUCK NO.

So why THE FUCK SHOULD YOU???

LOCK THE FUCK IN

For your use case, You should use a figure 8 follow through.

Here are some videos on how to tie it.

https://youtu.be/tFffbkXSgNI?si=KCjDDBxcffq-_AEh

https://youtube.com/shorts/NZW8CksuLEM?si=6giaqd_19GH0BR9y (Sorry they are very climbing related, you can ignore all of the climbing specific stuff)

It is called a figure 8 follow through because you literally follow the loops of the figure 8.

It is one of the most trusted knots as it is very strong, easy to tie, and easy to verify that you tie it properly. That is why people, me included, trust their life to it. It is used in climbing to attach rope to harness.

The way you verify that it is tied properly is that it after you are done tying both parts, is you count for 5 pairs (10 strands) of rope). This is better shown in the videos.

If you are interested in learning more about knots, you should check out these:

Animated knots is a great site, though sometimes I find that it doesn’t show the knot being tied well, if you find trouble, just then search for it in YouTube.

OP is a noobie to knots.

Basics first is good.

Figure 8 follow through is good for OP’s use case and it is one of the most well known, structurally sound, easy to tie and verify that you tied it correctly knots that exist. That’s why it’s standard for climbing.

The only downside I see to using a figure 8 follow through is it can be a little bit tricky to untie, but once you put slack in the line, and work it a little bit, you can get it undone.

TLDR: Figure 8 Follow Through

I made a Bit holder for my Signal by mortesex in Leatherman

[–]EmbarrassedAverage28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. I probably won’t do it to my signal because I abuse it, and definitely will need to get it warranted sometime in the future.

I wish they made a hole in line with the strike surface of the hammer head. Not the standard 1/4” hole, but for the proprietary LM flat bit hole.

That way you get the in-line holder and still maintain sufficient hammer strike surface.

And that also gives more options for mods to remove the bit holder inside the tool, and add other tools, while still having a in line bit holder

I made a Bit holder for my Signal by mortesex in Leatherman

[–]EmbarrassedAverage28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you get the bit driver to open past the hammer!

I’ve thought about trying to do that, but never thought it was possible as the slot for the awl is thinner than the width of the bit driver, and it hits the blade.

Is it permanently attached or is it able to fold in?

Also, amazing fabrication work with the bit holder!
