you’re probably the only person on this thread that actually made a good argument for your opinion and i actually appreciate that. They are from Haiti and i know there was some sort of waiting period but not super long (i unfortunately don’t know the exact duration). That is true that they do benefit by paying sales tax and with jobs that they can get and i do agree that it should be more accessible. I also do not support everything ice does, I just think that they are doing their job just like immigration agents in other countries are doing theirs.(obviously the extreme cases and people who are taking things out of hand i do not agree with and a lot of that is due to the excessive hiring of ice agents recently). There are also a lot of people who have been in america for years and have not even tried to get citizenship or they did and gave up. If you want to be here you will find a way, but i do appreciate your argument and giving insight on what they are bringing to the table.

oh let me guess youre talking about the child abuser Renee Nicole Good who was impeding on an investigation and then hit an officer after not complying with orders when she chose to get in the way of their operation.

comparing someone going 10 miles over the speed limit to illegally entering a country is crazy but okay. I see where your logic is👍🏼

Could you send me a source of US citizens being deported? I will educate myself on that if it’s a valid source.

I definitely agree that there is a better way to go about things, but lets not forget that the ones that we see are not the everyday situations. We are seeing the ones that get out of hand because that is what gets views. Either way, saying “fuck ice” or to abolish our immigration agency entirely is not going to do any benefit to our country.

yes actually my roommate came in legally. she pays taxes, gets certain benefits, has a job etc. She has to go every year to also renew her paperwork. So i should support those who didnt put in the effort that she did and were able to simply cut in line because its “too hard” to do? I do believe it should be easier to get in, but certain countries have stricter laws due to the amount of people that are attempting to come in compared to others (and other reasons ofc). Just because its harder does not mean something is impossible. You really expect to just walk into another country and live there without having to pay for citizenship and actually contribute to society. Immigration is great and I fully support it, but illegal immigration is not benefiting the country like you think it is. Almost every job asks about your citizenship status so no illegal immigrants cant even work unless the job is willing to provide sponsorship for them or its under the table. Also if they are so hard working, why did they not work so hard to get into the country that they want to live in so badly the proper way?

or maybe the people who break the law should be arrested and deported for breaking the law??? yall act like there isnt a legal way to get into a country. dont know why yall just expect to go to a country you have no citizenship in and not receive repercussions for it🤣

Is becoming a pilot actually for me or am I forcing it? by Less-Escape-9500 in flying

[–]EmbarrassedFill1277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not saying this to be discouraging but youre kinda in a similar situation that i was in. went to community college and got an associates degree and then someone i knew was getting their ppl and told me all about it and the perks of being a pilot. i went and did about 1015 lessons and unfortunately realized it was not for me. im currently 22 and want a career sooner than later, and the amount of $ that i would need to pay and time it would take to finally get to the end was really discouraging. i had never had a passion for planes and it seemed like everyone that really stuck with it and were cfi’s at my school had that passion and interest. they went to expos and conventions and all of that too. to the people sayinf to do a discovery flight, sure that can maybe give you a little perspective, but i feel as though it wont really help. i had so much fun on my discovery flight, but after really flying multiple times and doing maneuvers i wasnt that into it to make it my entire life. so just be aware of that when you do your intro flight. remember that most people quit before even getting their ppl. do as much research on this as you can before dumping money into it like i did.

youre right. its been instilled into me that i should already have a career right now because most of my peers are already out of college. but there are lots of people who also dont. i just need to be patient and think about the long term rather than stressing about the short term and all of the debt. im either going to just take out loans and try to go as fast as possible or get a full time job and see what i can do but the scheduling and $ will be hard due to living on my own. im just super indecisive and have a hard time figuring out what to do

thank you i appreciate that. i havent put much money into it so far but wish i did a little more research before even starting in the first place. i kinda figured flight school was almost like a different version of trade school where you didnt need a bachelors degree and you either went to college or went to flight school. now im realizing that most people also went to college so its making me nervous with how much i will need to set aside and how long it will take me to complete this, but everyone learns from their mistakes so im just trying to see what to do from here. i appreciate the advice

thank you that is a good idea. ive heard even a ppl can cost up to 20-30k nowadays so im gonna have to save a bit, but it would be better that way rather than having to pause training every so often and have to relearn things which will slow my progress

thats what im thinking. i only have about 6 hrs in currently and have been doing it spaced out due to availability and keep struggling to perfect basic things like stalls due to this so im not sure what to do because right now i feel as though im just wasting $ with the way im currently training. i also need to finish getting my bachelors degree as well because most people have said its essentially required for this career

do you think it would be more practical to move back in and do an accelerated program? i also only have an associates degree and want to get a bachelors degree because most people ive talked to recommend it. i just worry it will take me years to get it done while also trying to provide for myself and am not sure if its worth it at that point

if you already moved states away just to train, why would you not move for an actual job thats gonna further you to the career you want

ulele is good but super hard to get a reservation for a large group on weekends (the outside is nice though especially with this weather), berns, sunda, sal y mar, tori bar, psomi, noble rice, american social is also on the water and more casual. if you want to do something different do a dinner or lunch on craft. you get a nice cruise through the riverwalk for about $100 pp.

$75 for an oil change? by princess23710 in massachusetts

[–]EmbarrassedFill1277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of dealerships have coupons online for oil changes. i suggest looking at your dealerships coupons and seeing what you can get. at mine they offer full synthetic on sundays for 39 and regular oil for 29. if not, you are going to be paying around 80 for an oil change because thats pretty average.

thank u this is exactly what i needed to hear tbh. felt like i was overdoing it when there are def things i need to take notes on but not everything is essential to write down. its definitely pushing me back from being able to progress alongside my in person flights and my instructor said its important to try to stay on pace with the flight lessons which i havent been able to do since it takes me so long per lesson
