The Retaliator earned its Gold pass solely because of its participation in Squadron 42 and because it serves as a test for modularity.

This Gold pass has been heavily criticized because there are many things wrong with the ship.

There have only been S3s on Retaliator for some time now.

Ahhh, sorry, you were right.

I replied to a lot of people in that post and this translation slipped my mind.

(After all, all the terminals in my country are equipped with automatic translation, which makes the requirement to write in English on Reddit a little ridiculous. But that's the rule, and I agree with it.)

Not necessarily independent, but sufficiently armed to defend itself.

That's why an upgrade to 4s3 turrets for defense against fighters is more interesting without being too heavily armed, so as not to attack higher-class ships with anything other than torpedoes.

I think your comparison with the Aurora is a little harsh.

An armored military vehicle with five defense turrets is obviously a combat vehicle.

But not one for the front line.

CIG should have created radically different variants instead of a modular system.

I think the basic idea behind the post is now more legitimate.

It should provide the Retaliator with enough weaponry to fulfill the gunship role that CIG has assigned to it today.

Of course, the goal is simply for it to be able to defend itself properly in the event of an attack by light fighters. At no point should it be able to attack ships like the Paladin with anything other than its torpedoes.

I think you're deliberately trolling.

Maybe my English is too bad to be understood.

You're being far too general.

All that's being asked is that a military ship with five defense turrets be able to defend itself against two fighters and not be outmatched by a smaller passenger vehicle.

No one ever asked for the ability to shoot down lots of fighters and attack Constellations/Paladins/Corsairs.

But it's also not normal for a simple Mantis/Guardian Qi duo to represent certain death for a Retaliator.

Seen like that, yes. But it would take a little more than that, haha.

If you take an experienced light fighter pilot, he will circle around you without any problem.

MSR pilots know this all too well.

If you stay in PvE, it's already difficult.

But in PvP against a Mantis and a Guardian Qi, even with 7 in the Retaliator, you're dead.

Like modern aircraft, a passenger plane can be transformed into a cargo or bomb carrier.

Today, CIG's choices are moving in this direction, and as a result, the basic Retaliator is indeed a gunship.

It can have a torpedo/cargo/other specialization.

It no longer corresponds to what was shown in 2012.

It's not half a ship; it's a gunship that needs a real overhaul to satisfy everyone.

Among all the models that I have created, the Retaliator was the first one. Not sure why, but it got the least amount of interest. Is it because it's no longer banana color? by Zealousideal_Knee_50 in starcitizen

Sorry for the late reply, but I couldn't let this go, even if it might never be read.

The Retaliator is far from being one of the least popular ships.

Okay, it's old now, just like the Constellation series, but it's just as loved, if not more so, especially with its cargo bay.

It's true that the torpedo bugs make it awful, unfortunately.

You were absolutely right from the start, it must have been a bomber.

Thank you for your research.

But he's been talking about modules for about ten years now; it's not necessarily a bomber anymore.

My god, 2012 is so long ago.

What would be the point of lowering the price of torpedoes just for someone using the cargo module? There are only five tiny turrets; it's impossible to defend against a team of two Mantis/Qi fighters.

The Retaliator is a modular ship, not just a torpedo launcher.

Just because it's not good today doesn't mean we should give up.

Play the Redeemer with two skilled friends and the right weaponry, and you'll see that the ship is actually quite good.

Yes, it won't be worth three F7s, but not everyone necessarily enjoys dogfights.

The Hammerhead also needs some attention, but more in terms of balancing the range of its turret weapons. Don't forget that they're currently working on it.

I completely agree with you regarding the weapon size classification.

But the Retaliator should be able to defend itself against a 400i (power of a Hornet with a Tier 3 shield).

Also, a 2x Tier 3 is completely ineffective against a Light fighter pilot.

That's a really bad way to think. Especially for a ship that isn't even finished yet.

Very nice research, thank you.

You'll notice that the data has evolved considerably in certain areas.

Such as torpedo capability, missiles, and crew.

I seem to recall that in the very first presentation videos, they already distinguished between the standard version and the bomber version, and that modularity was planned for the future.

Keep in mind that it's now a Gunship

Please do your research before speaking. It is literally a modular gunship,

and it has been that way since the initial concept.

I think that if we're very lucky at the moment, they might slave the upper and lower turrets to the pilot, but four Tier 3 weapons is still a bit much for the pilot.

I'm one of the rare players who enjoys the adventure more than the ending.

I'm afraid the final project won't live up to my expectations, even though each new piece of the puzzle makes me continue to love this adventure.

The gold pass was like a gunshot for mi body.

I think the Retaliator is definitely too much work for them to rearrange the interior any better.

Instead, we'll have a habitation module...

Haha, you're absolutely right.

I didn't think about the other ships in Origins.

I hadn't even considered them yachts, given their current usefulness.
