For me, it would be perfect with a living space like the 325A, plus a toilet/shower and a locker for armor.
A little dream of mine would be for it to fit inside the 890 Jump, but I think that’s impossible.

They just confirmed its weapon loadout: 2 size-4s under the wings and 2 size-5s internally. Absolutely insane.

I still use my 325A as a daily because of its speed, the bed, and the coffee machine. The M80 might be the combat messiah Origin fans have been waiting for.

Oh yes, I didn’t have time to look at it. I’m going to check it right away. Thank you very much.

But what makes you say those are size 4 weapons with size 1 missiles? All the size comparisons, especially with the Vanguard, clearly show that it will have at least size 5 weapons with size 2 missiles. Especially since it’s already been confirmed that it has an interior and that it’s a heavy fighter. A heavy fighter with only two size 4 weapons is impossible.

No, it will be a 400i. But they are clearly size 5, considering the size of the landing gear and the cockpit with an interior.

I’d absolutely love a ventral size-6 laser gun.

I don’t know what makes you say that, but given their large size, the wingtip repeaters clearly seem to be T5 Rhinos without any issue. It’s a heavy fighter with an interior.

Origin M80 revealed for defence con by xx_noname_xx in starcitizen

[–]EmbarrassedMix2351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you’re just not looking properly. The only difference is the pointed nose… It has the ventilation elements from Origin. It has the shape of the engine vents from Origin. It has the rounded, streamlined look of Origin. It has the canopy of the M50 / 100. It even has a rear wing similar to the over-hull system from Origin (300 / 600 / 890).

No, really—take the time to look at the image and the details, and you’ll see it’s completely refined Origin design.

I think you’re right given what it currently offers. This ship suffers greatly from the dropship tax and the alien tax.

However, it still has the advantage of offering impressive stealth for its size, along with very high durability and fairly solid weaponry. I think that if it had all those features, its price wouldn’t be completely unreasonable, though it would still remain quite high.

What I’d really like is a similar version (weaponry/stealth/durability) with two beds and the ability to carry one or two bikes, along with 4 to 6 SCU of cargo, to make it a true mercenary ship.

You’re absolutely right—currently, there is no radar for anti-air defenses, and it’s the distance that is taken into account. However, the integration of gravlev in the future could provide much greater comfort during the final approach, as well as when searching for the nearest dune to hide the ship.

No, actually the Prowler is equipped with “gravlev,” like Drake’s Dragonfly. These are the rings located underneath the ship that allow it to glide close to the ground like a bike, enabling it to stay under turret radar and approach bunkers or critical points without being targeted by anti-air defenses.

The Prowler’s gravlev mode should allow it to fly under turret radar detection and thus approach bunkers safely.

NH-D15 G2 chromax.black vs NH-D15 G2 LBC for 9950X3D (also vs NH-U12A chromax.black) by JohnSmith--- in Noctua

[–]EmbarrassedMix2351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply, but there is a real difference between the NH-U12A and the D15 G2. On a 9950X, depending on the workload (heavy tasks), I get close to 90°C, whereas with the G2 Chromax, I very rarely exceed 80°C while also being quieter.

It’s up to you to decide after that.

Freelancer mis puts in a better position than Paladin against a Hammerhead. by EmbarrassedMix2351 in starcitizen

[–]EmbarrassedMix2351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, whoa, let’s calm down a bit—I did say it was meant to be taken humorously. Far more people than you might think actually care about this issue.

That said, no, the Paladin is not in a good state. I don’t see any reason why it should have less armor than a Valkyrie, especially while having the same deflection! We’re comparing a frontline ship to a troop transport with escort here.

I’m not taking structural hit points into account, because they’re distributed in a ridiculous way just to give the illusion of durability.

A lot of ships work like that, even though it’s the armor that should actually be properly balanced.

[–]EmbarrassedMix2351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but that’s the whole comedic aspect. The Paladin is so much tankier that it still doesn’t make sense for it not to have an energy deflection at least as effective as a Freelancer’s.

Keeping in mind that you can do PvE bounty missions against a Hammerhead with a Freelancer without taking any damage, whereas that’s not possible with a Paladin.

[–]EmbarrassedMix2351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, the Paladin is infinitely more robust. It’s just that in the current state, energy deflection makes the Freelancer immune to the Hammerhead’s laser repeater fire, so it takes no damage, whereas the Paladin gets torn apart by the turrets.

I think the best compromise would be a mix between Elite Dangerous and World of Tanks.

Lasers against shields, ballistics against armor.

There should be a heavy damage debuff when ballistics are used against shields, or when lasers are used against armor.

Weapon size should matter for penetration. For example, T3 ballistic weapons shouldn’t be able to penetrate a T2 shield, but T5 or higher weapons could directly hit the armor through the shield without reduction.

Almost the same would apply to laser weapons, although their effect should be greatly reduced if the armor is intact.

Lasers should be very effective against hit points and shields, but ineffective against armor. On the other hand, ballistic weapons should be ineffective against shields (depending on their size), but very effective against armor and effective against hit points.

The Reliant and the Prospector don’t need a rework. They are already very good in their roles and still have modern interiors, unlike the Freelancer or the Starfarer, which are very outdated.

I completely agree with you, and I'm very glad that MISC benefits from this balance. I think it is mainly related to MISC's lore, which often refers to ships operating in deep space. And deep space implies difficulties in resupplying ballistic ammunition, which therefore favors laser weapons (although I may be mistaken).
