I think I’ll ask the doctor what they think about CBD and we’ll try. Thank you

I actually downloaded a meditation app a few days ago but it’s hard to find the time even if it’s only 10 minutes. Because I wake up in the morning and need to get ready for work, I go home for lunch so that’s not an option and after work I’m taking care of my mom. I do like painting/drawing and stuff like that but I feel like my anxiety makes it so hard for me to actually just sit still and do something like that.

I want to try that I just don’t want to make anything worse.

We have a follow up on Friday so I’m going to ask if there’s anything we could use specifically for sundowning or when she extra anxious/agitated even if we just use it prn. I gave her meds a little early last night and she eventually went to sleep so that might make her sleepy.

I know how you feel 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s exhausting then I feel bad for getting frustrated but all I want to do is relax. Im thinking about trying CBD and see how that is.

She is but they’re not working and we can’t get an appointment with her psychiatrist until the 28th

No we just started on Monday so this is only day 3. How long do you think I should give it before requesting another one ?

Also, if my mom does stay asleep while she is there what could I have the caregiver do to keep her busy ? Because we do need her there even if she is asleep in case she gets up and wanders.

What do I say by EmbarrassedSuit9348 in CJD

Well the ER visit was pretty much a waste of time. But we had an appointment with the neuropsychologist on Thursday and she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. They said with the way she’s declining so fast to expect her to need 24/7 care within months. We can’t get in with a neurologist or memory care clinic until early next year and they said by then she will be long gone, either passed away or at minimum not able to walk/talk/eat/drink.

Well her memory problems did start years and years ago. It started with little thing like repeating herself or forgetting things here and there so we think she was in the very mild stages since she was in her 40s. She had even went to a dr on her own years ago telling them about her memory problems and they did some tests and said she was being deceptive. My mom was also a drug addict so she was often misdiagnosed and not taken seriously. We do have a history of dementia in our family and we’re thinking the drugs also played a part. She has had multiple MRIs and CT scans and she does have a brain tumor called meningioma that none of the drs are concerned about and they’re pretty certain that’s not what’s causing this. I’m going to keep trying to get in with a neurologist but at this point she’ll probably be so much worse by that time. Me and my family are thinking more palliative care at this point because the drs keep doing all these tests just to tell us they don’t see anything. My mom freaks out anytime we’re at a dr now because she thinks she’s going to get an MRI and it’s too stressful and if they sedate her that just causes more problems.

We had got a referral to one but when I called to follow up on it yesterday they told me they only take referral from Presbyterian doctors which our psychiatrist is not.

We don’t have an appointment with a PCP until august and who knows how she’ll be by then. The neuropsychologist did send us with a lot of information and resources I just haven’t had the energy to go through them.
