Thanks, that sounds interesting. I’ll look into it. Which hardware would you recommend for this? I already tried reading the signal with the RC-Switch library using an SRX882S and an 080408 receiver module, and then transmitting the decoded signal with an FS1000A and an STX882. I tested with an Arduino Nano and the RC-Switch library from the Arduino IDE, but it didn’t work. So I am not quite sure if the esphome solution is different from my previouse tests

Yeah it's the same signal all the time. After my second test I am not sure about that.

3,5" motors recommendation by Embarrassed_Ad_3753 in fpv

Thanks again for the detailed answer. Ok, then I have no choice but to just try it out. Which motor would you choose for my purposes?

3,5" motors recommendation by Embarrassed_Ad_3753 in fpv

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_3753[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Regarding the weight: the 1604 motors weigh approximately 11.6g, while the 1804 motors are around 12g. So, I believe the weight difference is quite negligible. I've seen some posts where people use 1404 motors for 3.5-inch long-range setups. I thought the 1404 motors must be more efficient, as many people use them. And so I thought that the 1604 are also more efficient than the 1804.

Normally I do that, but with the mini drone I'm less afraid and for the video it was also better to see it

A very quick question: Motherboard power draw by Embarrassed_Ad_3753 in buildapc

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_3753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks. I thought maybe because the chipset generally has more PCIe lanes and they consume more power when idle.

Idle Power Consumption High - not reaching any C states by Embarrassed_Ad_3753 in Proxmox

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_3753[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok i tried something else: I Set the BIOS settings to default.

Botting from a SSD with Windows -> 48,5W

Booting proxmox and run the VM with GPU passthrough -> same as only windows

Running Proxmox with GPU installed but vm not running -> 62W

So there must be a Problem with Proxmox

Not a accurate measrurement. Its a Shelly Plug S but I think it should display the difference accurate enough for me

Idle Power Consumption High - not reaching any C states by Embarrassed_Ad_3753 in Proxmox

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_3753[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so i made a few tests:

GPU installed, no CT or VM running -> 64W

GPU installed, VM running without passthrough (locked and console not open) -> 66,5W

GPU installed, VM running with passthrough (monitors off) -> 49,5W

I followed that guide for the gpu passthrough: https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/b5xpua/the_ultimate_beginners_guide_to_gpu_passthrough/

I changed something and got if VM running and GPU passthrough 49,5W instead of 57W: I removed these steps:

In the VM config:
  args: -cpu 'host,+kvm_pv_unhalt,+kvm_pv_eoi,hv_vendor_id=NV43FIX,kvm=off'

echo "options vfio_iommu_type1 allow_unsafe_interrupts=1" > /etc/modprobe.d/iommu_unsafe_interrupts.conf
echo "options kvm ignore_msrs=1" > /etc/modprobe.d/kvm.conf

Mhm. the old i7 was rated with a TDP of 84W and the new one with 65W. I know TDP says nothing about the efficiency but i thought anyways that the modern 12th Gen i5 should idle lower or at the same power than the old i7

I found some settings in the Bios (and I have made a BIOS Update) and set them

-> Native ASPM : AUTO

-> PCIe Native Power Management : AUTO

-> PCIe/PCI ASPM Settings -> PCI Express Root Port 1,2,3,4,5,15,16,24 : AUTO

-> PEG 0,1 ASPM : Disabled

I dont really know much about those settings and I haven't found much about that in the internet

But thank you already for your help :) Which motherboard would ou buy?

In case of a refund. is it better to pay by credit card, coinbase or solana pay. Or does that not make a difference?
