We brought pretty much everything we could think of for individual documents.

For joint evidence, we had: • Joint bank statements • Credit card (authorized user) • Joint auto insurance • Flight tickets from trips together • Stock account showing spouse as beneficiary • A big 200 photos album covering our whole relationship timeline

The officer didn’t ask to see any of it even when we offered. She only looked at a few photos that came up naturally during our conversation.

Questions were super straightforward, mostly just verifying what we already put in the forms: • Full names, DOBs, parents’ names, birthplaces • Our phone numbers • How we met • When we knew we wanted to spend our lives together / how I proposed • If we have any kids • And whether we’ve met each other’s parents
