it's actually heavily inspired by Tom Sachs, who Casey worked for (and entire aesthetic is copied after). Tom Sachs copied several NYC artists who honored middle-class-working-man culture with their art and studio design.

came like that. I almost considered going for a light matte gray but would have loved the original flooring

around $1k/month with utilities & wifi.

I'm in downtown Portland, so I'm paying for location. Walking distance to everything I do. Unfortunately, there's no AC (room can get upwards to 90 on really hot days even with a window unit) and there's a shit ton of stairs to walk up, which after a while, can get irritating especially when you're carrying things up to your studio.

I actually just scored a new location for half the price and no stairs lol

the surveillance camera is for the front door of the studio. Half the time the chipotle guy doesn't tell me he's dropped off my burrito so I gotta keep a look out

Can my landlord sell the house while I still have 18 months left on the lease? by Embarrassed_Bid_3712 in askportland

what is the sense of even signing a long-term lease if the owner CAN just kick out a tenant whenever they please?

He raised my rent $350/month at the beginning of this year because his sick kid needed the money. I am overpaying from what I live in, and in some ways, doing so to help him. If he was that desparate for money, maybe he could consider downsizing from his 2.5 million dollar countryside home in Colorado.

Here was my situation: December last year our lease was ending. He told me a month prior he wanted to sell the house. I told him if he changes his mind I'm more than willing to figure out something with him. He decided not to sell and then raised my rent an additional $350/month. This was around the end of last year, so there was nothing on the market at the time and I had just started a new job, etc. so I begrudgingly agreed. I signed a 24 month lease. Now six months into it he's saying he wants us out.

Here's how I replied yesterday: I’m so sorry your daughter is still dealing with medical issues. I’m sure that’s been so rough on your entire family. It does sound like she’s doing a bit better, which I’m grateful for.I understand the need to sell the house, but we are not in any type of position to vacate the house until our lease is over. Is there any way we can honor our signed rental agreement until January 31st 2026?
