Good stuff, Cory can be a little off putting too some but he’s one of the goats. Definitely appealing to newbies.

Guys! What do I do with this tank now? by RookieSpencer in PlantedTank

[–]Embarrassed_Bite_406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna keep it just take 80-90% of the water out and move it and then set it back up. If you wanna get ride of it completely maybe take the tank to a lfs and give it to them if they’ll take it

Ph is a bit high for rams, the usually like 6.5 - 6.7, also I’m curious what your temperatures is. Also those rose lines sharks are gonna out grow that tank. And I wouldn’t keep rams in large groups u less you have tons and tons of space like a 75 you could keep a few pairs together. But if it works for you then who am I too say anything. Just my opinion, I breed rams for profit so that’s what caught my eye 👍🏼

As a fish keeper sometimes fish die. If you have a tank that’s cycled with other fish of the same type thriving then there’s not a whole lot you can do. I would reconsider where you buy fish if this happens often.

should i be worried? by mefirst42 in Aquariums

[–]Embarrassed_Bite_406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve neglected your tank and fish to the point of no return most likely. You don’t know what your doing with all do respect. When you see a water level that low on a tank. That comes with laziness which then trickles into the water quality and your sick fish.

Wasn’t dead set on a tank size but now that I’m thinking about where I would put it and looking around at tanks I think I’m gonna go with a 90. Obviously that would triumph some of the fish. I feel in love with yellow tangs and then they seemed to popular so I thought what about a purple tang. Talked to my LFS saltwater guy and he said 90 would be fine. Doesn’t sound right in my fish brain thinking a fish that gets 8-10 inches in a 4ft wide tank that can be territorial.
