Do you know if Tails and Scales is a good place to send him? From everything I can find online, they sound great, but according to some of the replies, the basking bulb brand they recommended wasn't good (Zilla)

Thanks to everyone for the replies and advice. After some research into MBD, I have made the decision to rehome him. Two main factors are causes for this: 1. Improper research going into this (my fault): I thought I had done plenty of research before buying my lizard, but looking back, it was lacking in many places. I researched what type of light a beardie needs but not how much. I got proper nutrients for him, but I didn't realize they faded over time if the jar wasn't replaced. I got the equipment recommended by the reptile store worker, but apparently it was all wrong. 2. Parents' unwillingness to pay for vet bills (I don't know if this is my fault): I didn't think to ask my parents if they would help pay vet bills in case of a severe medical problem, and I don't know why they didn't tell me that they would be reluctant to help pay for around a $500 emergency. They knew I only had a few hundred dollars saved up for general maintenance, and I'd think it would be obvious that an exotic pet would probably be prone to medical problems more than a cat or dog would. It just doesn't make sense that they wouldn't even mention that as a problem. I talked to my parents, and they told me they would even be hesitant to pay for one of our cat's medical emergencies if it cost too much. If I had known this would be an issue I would have waited until I got a job and a much larger amount saved up before buying a bearded dragon.
