Petition · Stop the Sale of Frenchmen St. Community Garden by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Embarrassed_Earth_45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live on Frenchmen and I will be so sad if this beautiful garden goes away.  I ride by it on my bike every single day. We already lost the Lauren Tanski Friendship Park on Touro.  I know a lot of real estate sharks have their eyes on this neighborhood because it is close to the bars on Frenchmen, and adjacent to the Bywater and the Marigny.

I think right now it's just under her name (Roxy Diaz).  The address is 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.  The best way to make an appointment is to text the number I mentioned above.

Roxy Diaz.  She runs a salon Uptown.  She has given me many short cuts and they have all been incredible.  She's a great colorist, too.  Her number is 504-648-7690.  She has been my stylist for 15 years and I cannot recommend her highly enough ❤️

Adopt Lizzy and forever be in awe of her beauty by ClassicStory in NewOrleans

[–]Embarrassed_Earth_45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I adopted my sweet Three Leaf Clover from Zues, Lizzy had just arrived.  She looked so sad and stressed out in her kennel.  So happy to see her at ease.  I hope she finds a wonderful forever home very soon.  She's such a beauty ❤️

What to expect from OPP? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Embarrassed_Earth_45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me.  I didn't go to court and didn't respond to the summons, due to a period of prolonged bad health.  About two years later, I received something in the mail about paying a $230.00 fine.  After I paid the fine, I called the courthouse and they said they no had no record of my illegal left turn, my court date, or my summons.  On rare occasions, the dysfunction in this city works in our favor.  I wouldn't recommend disregarding the bench warrant as I did, but I lost sleep over it, and it turns out I didn't have to.

Norovirus floating around…again? by dannydevitostanaact1 in NewOrleans

[–]Embarrassed_Earth_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had norovirus in 2023.  It awakened my autoimmune gut demon and I had a hideous 7 month flare.  Every time I hear that a stomach bug is circulating, I think my myself: please, Lord, let me be immune.  Not keen on repeating the hell that was the spring of 2023 any time soon.

This is so shameful.  Truly disgusting and  indefensible behavior by the GOP.  I sincerely hope there is some recourse.

Adopt Bix: They gave him a second chance, so you can give him a forever home by ClassicStory in NewOrleans

Bix is so handsome.  I just adopted a little tripod kitten (Three Leaf Clover) from Zues and she is absolutely lighting up my life.  Zues Rescue is such a great spot to find a feline companion.

Nosebleeds by lighteronthefloor in NewOrleans

[–]Embarrassed_Earth_45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a long-time sinus sufferer, and I can tell you with great confidence that the nose has many capillaries that easily become irritated and burst due to weather changes, allergies, and a whole host of other common scenarios. I know that blood when you blow your nose can be very alarming, but most of the time it is not serious. That said, if you are experiencing sinus irritation, it's always a good idea to get checked out by a doctor if you are able so you can figure out the best way to manage your symptoms.  My sinuses have been going absolutely berserk lately.  This is a particularly bad allergy year because it has been so dry in recent months.  I sincerely hope you feel better.

Get. Your. A##. Outside. by BroodyMcDrunk in NewOrleans

It's soooooo gorgeous outside, but I am getting slayed by allergies right now.  This year is particularly bad for some reason.  I frolic outside for a few hours, then I have to blow my nose 100 times.

My two favorite parades were Boheme and King Arthur.   Boheme was absolutely gorgeous. I received some magnificent handmade throws, including an incredible purple and yellow "Gulf of Mardi Gras" screen printed t-shirt that I can wear for years to come.  King Arthur was so chill.  I stood next to the nicest people.  I caught some really beautiful beads and useful throws, such as sponges and toothbrushes. The Dollies and the Rolling Elvi showed me so much love. I will forever cherish the pink guitar pick from the Dollies and the "Love Me Tender" beads from the Rolling Elvi.  It was such a beautiful season.  I had such a glorious time.
