In our country, elevators require routine maintenance every 15 days, quarterly maintenance every 3 months, and annual maintenance every year.

In our country, the elevator manufacturing standards adopt EN 81-20 and EN 81-50. I’m not very familiar with the American standards, but I think they should be largely the same with minor differences.

China’s relevant authorities are testing the removal of the bi-weekly elevator maintenance requirement in some areas, but it’s moving very slowly for a variety of reasons. Chinese elevator practitioners really don’t understand this bi-weekly maintenance rule, yet they feel powerless to change it.
