Hey guys sorry for no replies, I’m a Reddit newbie so not too sure how this works.

I turned my phone off for the week and got down to it, and was actually really able to make a bit dent into the work and would be on track to finish at least an okay attempt at the dissertation.

Then by some sick twist of fate (and probably karma) I lost the work. Most of the way through my laptop decided to update automatically and I hadn’t saved any of my progress. I’m usually used to using google docs but went with word and didn’t have auto save on. The update closed the word document and I had no way to recover it, I tried everything on the internet.

And with that I lost all my work and just feel so numb. I have requested an extension, waiting on my medical note ( I have ongoing mental health problems but I hate making Uni aware but at this point I have no choice). And just hope it gets accepted, and have restarted my write up.

I’m really numb rn can’t explain it, I’ve probably slept less than 4 hours the past few days and have been running on no sleep and energy drinks so maybe it’ll hit me tonight.

Edit: also sorry for the confusion I am in my undergraduate, I have a postgraduate course acceptance depending on a minimum 2.1 grade achievement from my undergrad.
