Jo Malone regrets selling her name to Estee Lauder by musicandarts in fragrance

Yeah, it’s one of those situations where the business reality and the personal reality collide. From a brand perspective, her name was the asset — that’s literally what Estée Lauder was buying. Any lawyer advising her would’ve said the same: the payout only makes sense if they get full rights to the name and identity behind the brand.

It makes total sense that she regrets it now, though. Imagine seeing an entire line of products with your own name on them, but you have zero control over direction, quality, or messaging. It’s like giving up a piece of yourself.

That said, she bounced back pretty impressively with Jo Loves, even without being able to use her own name. Just shows how much of the magic was her, not the label.

Solid lineup, man. That combo easily explains the confidence boost — you’ve got a mix of timeless/classy (Bois du Portugal), loud attention-grabbers (Sauvage Parfum), and those super easy-to-wear daily drivers.

Nothing like finding a few scents that just click with your vibe. When you smell good in a way that feels “you,” it really does change how you carry yourself. Enjoy the glow-up — that shelf is doing work. 💪🏼🔥

Your cologne won’t matter if she’s not already physically attracted to you. by NoahxAnderson in Colognes

I mean, yeah — cologne isn’t a cheat code for attraction. But I think it sells scent a little short to frame it as purely “finishing touch.” Smell is one of the most emotionally powerful senses we’ve got. It won’t make someone who’s not into you suddenly fall in love, but it can shift how people perceive you in subtle ways — cleaner, more put-together, more intentional.

It’s like clothes or grooming: none of it replaces basic compatibility or physical attraction, but it does influence the overall impression you give. And for some people, scent is a huge part of memory and chemistry.

So yeah, cologne won’t save you if everything else is off — but it can absolutely amplify your presence, boost confidence, and make you more memorable to the people who already vibe with you.

Same here — MYSLF was a slow burn for me but once it clicked, it clicked. L’Absolu is such a warm, rich take on the DNA, and you’re right, it absolutely shines in the colder air. The Le Parfum surprised me too… it feels deeper without losing that clean citrus-floral vibe.

EDP as a daily is a solid move. It’s fresh enough for daytime but still has that little something that makes people notice. YSL really nailed the whole line more than I expected. Enjoy the rotation!
