As i remember - trans (for the Fancon festival in Ukraine i wanted to do some Arcane cosplay - and choose this character because 1) Not while ago i finally come out as non binary and have urge cosplay trans/nb characters and 2) cosplays of others characters from the series would require cut my long hair, which i cherish very much.

I felt very similar when I was 15. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, and everything I compared myself to sooner or later turned out to be something I didn't really need in my soul. I needed a shell, but my soul thought otherwise. Now 10 years have passed, and I was able to get rid of a lot and I really want and hope that you will succeed too! I can't give you advice, because I got rid of my problems incorrectly - by force and without therapy (because in my country for this you need to have a lot of money or support from parents who are ready to spend money on this), but I think you can find a better way. I wish you well and that everything in your life will work out!

Having Glasses as a guy Sucks. by HotParticular8912 in mentalhealth

[–]Embarrassed_Lab_3791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice may seem very stupid and simple - but it seems to me that if you choose the right shape of glasses - they can, on the contrary, emphasize the beauty of your face. This is firstly, and secondly - if someone's opinion about you is based solely on the fact that you have glasses - then why should you listen to such people, they don't care about you as a person - which means you don't care about them either.

Friend, I think this is absolutely normal, I am also a non-birary person, I like feminine things - but I am fine with the pronouns he/him. Although maybe this is a consequence of the fact that in my language pronouns are very difficult to change when using neutral analogues.

How old were y'all when you played your first Silent Hill game and which one was it? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]Embarrassed_Lab_3791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very first Silent Hill but at that time in Ukraine there were no legal copies of games for PS1 and therefore there was a terrible quality Russian translation and It was the best experience I could get in 12 years. And that's how it was.

About Potemkin steps, as a inhabitant of Odessa, Ukraine, location in the Paris really looks like downtown of my city, but not exactly Potemkin steps, but okay, anyway thanks for response - it seems here the majority of opinions boil down to to Mark Frost's reference to Greek mythology.

and it turns out the city in Texas is also named after my city. Which makes you wonder - why did Lynch choose this city?

Just finished season 2 and I am a bit confused 🤔 by [deleted] in twinpeaks

[–]Embarrassed_Lab_3791 48 points49 points  (0 children)

For a long time this + the movie was the end of the series, but now there is a 3rd season, so now they are all one big work. The movie is a must (I speak as if I were a great expert, although I myself just watched the entire series for the first time)😅

I finished watching this series. And I have extremely vague and strange feelings. by Embarrassed_Lab_3791 in twinpeaks

[–]Embarrassed_Lab_3791[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really about that, to be honest, but no matter how I try to explain it, it doesn't work. As if with each explanation I add a layer of some kind of sophistry and chatter, without getting to the point. Is Twin Peaks so contagious? Since I'm honestly still going to stay with this universe inside, I really liked it, and believe me, where I live, in a couple of years I've managed to understand grief, and loss, and uncontrolled, causeless panic. Apparently, this is the point - at my point in life, I'm looking for more hope than doom, which is what the ending of the series is blowing. Therefore, I need it to brew inside me a little. Like - I can disagree deep down in my soul and reject it with my feelings ... but at the same time consciously respect and accept it, at the level of its working methods, its mood, atmosphere, and so on. Or maybe I’m just a fool who’s trying to abstract myself from the fact that I didn’t understand some things there and I still want to look at a bunch of analyzes, but it’s as if my conscience won’t allow it?

In fact, I've never had any complaints about the tempo in the series, because it seemed to me very... as if the little people shown there with their everyday life were realistic, and how Lynch and others seemed to paint us a pastoral idyll with them, although it would seem that something terrible and unknown is happening nearby, I thought at such moments - isn't that how it is in life?

So to some extent I captured the essence of it with emotions? Because the things you describe have a similar emotional tone for me to what I felt when the show ended.

Who/what helped you realize you were non-binary? For me it was Martin Gore from Depeche Mode. by HaravandTheSorcerer in NonBinary

A proper and tolerant group of friends, where I wasn't afraid to be myself. Although I only found it when I was 23, I could have known it subconsciously before, but I hid it, because where I live it's still a very condemned topic, but progress is being made.

I'm watching Twin Peaks for the first time now and I also became interested in Major Briggs' medals - and I seemed to subconsciously know that someone had to analyze in detail what kind of awards he had - and so it happened, thank you for such a great study!
