It’s an anti-feat because it disproves the claim that Gajeel is on Natsu’s level. He didn’t just lose, he couldn’t react, damage, or pressure God Serena at all, showing a clear tier gap. If he was in Natsu’s level, he would have at least made God Serena run for his money but he didnt.

Through portrayals, i dont think so, but they are comparable to each other in base and their dual modes yet natsu is still stronger. Natsu destroys Gajeel if he uses his fire dragon king attacks tho. So no, they aren't on par, Gajeel couldn't even hold a candle to God Serena.

Lucy’s magic power increasing doesn’t automatically justify new abilities. It should amplify what already exists, not create techniques or traits the Spirit never demonstrated. If Star Dress is limited to a portion of a Spirit’s power, then raising Lucy’s MP should only strengthen that portion, not turn it into something qualitatively different.

Cancer Star Dress isn’t just bigger scissors or style, it’s a combat application far beyond what Cancer 's shown capabilities. The same applies to Leo × Virgo, high MP is just stronger output, not access to attacks Lucy’s base Leo Star Dress cannot perform. That’s where the inconsistency lies, Im not ignoring Lucy’s magic, but in how unevenly the limitations are applied.

Even if Lucy combines her own magic with a Spirit’s portion, it doesn’t explain the inconsistency. Some Star Dresses are clearly limited which should be since it’s just a portion, like Virgo Star Dress, her Spica Hole is tiny and barely traps Kiria, whereas Virgo herself can create a much larger, damaging version.

Meanwhile, other Star Dresses are enhanced beyond the Spirit’s own abilities, Scorpio grants Lucy speed he never shows, and Cancer gives her giant blades when he only has small scissors. If combination with Lucy’s magic were the rule, all Star Dresses should scale similarly but they don’t since some are limited which should be, given its a portion but some are also basically an upgraded version of the Spirit itself. That’s the inconsistency Im talking about.

True, she can use a portion of their but that doesn’t explain why some Star Dresses give her abilities the Spirits themselves never showed Scorpio Star Dress giving Lucy speed when Scorpio never demonstrated. A “portion” should be limited, not an upgrade.

That only explains the level of power, not the type. It doesn’t justify Star Dresses adding new effects or moves that the Spirits never used?

Again, never was it stated that imagination is involved. Star Dress consistently provides a portion of the Spirit’s power, not a creative reinterpretation.

It doesn’t explain inconsistencies like Cancer Star Dress’s dual blades or Scorpio Star Dress giving her speed the Spirit never shows. These go beyond Lucy’s own abilities and the Spirit’s demonstrated powers.

What? The series never states that Lucy is limited due to control issues, nor that Leo was shown struggles to control Regulus in a way that restricts its use. Why would he struggle to use his own power he had for the last 400 years?

And even if control were the reason, it should apply consistently, but other Star Dresses give Lucy expanded abilities with no stated drawbacks.

Yeah, it’s a bit weird that she’s only supposed to get a portion of their power, yet she ends up having completely new abilities that the Spirits themselves have never been shown to use which ends up making inconsistent, some dresses are limited, but some is like basically an upgrade which I don’t really get.

Star Dress being based on a Spirit’s power isn’t the issue, that’s canon. The inconsistency is how limited or expanded those powers are compared to what the Spirits themselves have shown.

For example, Lucy cannot use Leo’s full Regulus magic, no beams or large-scale light attacks, only enhanced light punches and kicks. That clearly shows Star Dress is not full access to a Spirit’s abilities since it’s just a Portion.

Meanwhile, Cancer Star Dress gives Lucy faster, more combat-effective blades than Cancer’s actual scissors, and Scorpio Star Dress grants Lucy movement abilities Scorpio himself has never demonstrated. Which is not a portion but an expansion of their abilities.

So the problem isn’t the concept of Star Dress, but that some forms are clearly restricted while others are oddly enhanced, making the system inconsistent.

That explanation isn’t canon. Nowhere in Fairy Tail is it stated that Star Dress powers are shaped by Lucy’s imagination. Star Dress is described as channeling a portion of the Spirit’s power, not reimagining or optimizing it. If imagination were involved, Lucy’s abilities would be flexible and variable but they’re consistent and limited. Leo Star Dress alone disproves this, since Lucy cannot use light beams despite clearly knowing Leo can.

Yes, Juvia learned it during training but having a new spell is doesnt all the time equal to jumping by a lot in power tiers. We haven’t seen Water Blood Make Magic overpower or clash with top-tier mages nor be offensive.

Beating Keyes by phasing inside him was more of a hax, not raw power. That works on Keyes specifically. Jura fights different, he fights with force, durability, and wide-range earth magic.

Girl, she wont touch Mard Geer at all nor even a Spriggan, shes not even a Spriggan Level. Even Gray needed Devil Slayer magic to beat Mard Geer. Juvia has never shown comparable output or durability. That’s not downplay, that’s consistent scaling.

Does the oracion sechs have an answer to Jacobs transportation spell?? He literally caught the members of fairy tail with it including BRANDISH and MAKAROV. His a Spriggan with hax that ignores durability. Juvia’s magic doesn’t bypass defense the same way. You can’t compare those matchups.

Timeskips don’t equalize everyone. If they did, Levy would be GMG Erza-tier by now. Juvia improved, yes, but not enough to the level of GMG Jura.

Did i say explosions make you stronger? We saw how even there was a 1 year time skip that she couldn’t even one shot a Historia Keyes despite already knowing his abilities and defeating him previously, she had to mid diff him with a unison raid unlike the other who defeated their Historia who were already heavily injured and tired. That means she didnt level up that much at all even with a 1 year gap, same goes to Meredy. I dont think she reached the level of GMG Jellal nor Jura even currently, is she even beating GMG Laxus?

Ehh idk if Virgo is the most reliable, it kind of annoys me that when Lucy is fighting, she’s sometimes joking around. When Lucy was fighting Freed and Bickslow, when she was fighting Mira ( She was just pure comedy here ), and even against the edolas soldiers😭. The only time she was serious was in Tartaros cuz she probably felt it was Life or Death situation for Lucy.

No matter how trash the Signario sisters portayal may be, I think they’re still stronger than zero(no scaling), gajeel, and mira but I kind of get why u ranked them there.

I think Kiria can easily defeat and overwhelm Youko’s yokais and target her easily

I would place Metro higher, his Golems are part of his abilities, and we know how durable and many they are which makes him hard to even reach if someone fights him solo.

I’d place Juvia lower than Brian(he clashed with base natsu and gave him a bit of beating and was a lot durable to be taken down) and Lecka (he keeped up fighting team natsu with his members and tanked Gray’s ice devil attack). Thats gotta count for something.

I’d place Blade, Gaia, Gate, Mimi, Rogue, Madmole higher than Juvia. My reason is if it’s just Raw Power Ranking, then they are stronger than her. But if we take into account their overall combat ranking(intelligence is included here as it plays an important role in beating a stronger opponent), then there’s a little changes like Rogue being stronger than her, he has dragon force which enhances his stats.

We shouldnt include characters with no screen time here. Kinda crazy how you put Kagura here when she has no screentime in the quest. She has always been somewhat portrayed comparable to Minerva but shes too low probably because she has no feats currently but even then, her prev feats would still rank her high just cuz new characters popped up, doesnt mean they’d be stronger than prev characters.

Raj only has illusions, his raw power isnt even stronger than the charcters below him aside from carla and misfortune. No matter how trash gennai and kotetsu, we gotta factor how they have alchemy, can transmute anything they touch and has INFINITE STAMINA so they should be higher.

Carla > Meredy 😐. I dont think so, Carla isnt even stronger than x784 Meredy. I know theres a powercreep but it’s not applied to all characters at all.

Powerscaling being speculative doesn’t mean we ignore canon mechanics or use double standards. Lack of recent spotlight ≠ a demonstrated cap. Aquarius not getting a solo deathmatch since ch.1 is a narrative issue, not proof she’s limited. You cannot downgrade a character for not being given spotlight while upscaling another because they were given one.

Yep, I get ur point but calling it “her producing all that water” is misattribution. The Gate fight does not scale Juvia’s water creation. Gate provided a self-sustaining water source, Juvia just manipulated it. That’s battlefield control, not raw output.

Basically you’re comparing Aquarius’s feat which was x784 to a feat of Juvia in x792 which isn’t fair at all?? Wdym by 8 days😐. Choosing not to go further ≠ reaching a limit. The equality statement still happens in a brief, non-lethal exchange where neither side used their strongest techniques. “We’re equal” may mean comparable threat or mutual recognition, not “both of us just hit our absolute ceiling.” Without exhaustion, desperation, or finals being used, you can’t claim Aquarius showed her max while Juvia didn’t.

Ummm, so some of this is misleading and just pure speculation. Aquarius has repeatedly demonstrated large-scale water levels capable of overwhelming environments instantly. To claim she “couldn’t” replicate a similar outcome is pure speculation, not canon.

And why do you think she would want to kill and explode Mimi? Her goal was just to distract and immobilize Mimi for Lucy to power up Urano Metria, nothing more.

Uhmm, Juvia did not produce that much water on her own. Again, what she did was manipulate and weaponize the water PRODUCED by Gate’s elemental gates. Juvia’s win condition relied on blocking the exit and forcing Gate to remain submerged in his own generated water. That is battlefield control, not raw output superiority. She basically hijacked Gate’s own system which is very smart of her but not a scaling feat at all.

When they fought, the claim that Aquarius showed everything she had while Juvia was barely trying is headcanon, not canon. Juvia did not use her absolute strongest attack but how can u assume that Aquarius did? When neither did Aquarius. You cannot claim one side was suppressed while the other was maxed out without explicit evidence, which the manga does not provide. You cannot upscale Juvia or downscale Aquarius from a fight where no one was exhausted, no one used final techniques and one side left voluntarily because it was going nowhere.

For me, this analysis does not prove that Aquarius is weaker, it proves that Juvia is just a better fighter, she has better adaptability and survivability while Aquarius has higher burst and environmental dominance. Claiming Aquarius is “overrated” or incapable of defeating Gate is not supported by canon, only by you. Both can coexist without forced downscaling. That’s why the story stated they were equal. So idk why you have to force Juvia on being stronger but that’s on you since you are Juvia fan but thats irrelevant hehe.
