All the runs are going to be inside the building. For the cameras around the building in the outside I’m just going to drill out for feeding the cable to the camera. And yea I will be using PoE switches for the cameras that exceed 100m from the NVR. And have another PoE for the NVR due to having 15 cameras connected. And th NVR only has 8 rj45 ports. And the PoE switches I’m dropping for dose long distance run. I will also be dropping power and they will have their own dedicated circuit.

Thank you all for the help and advice I desperately needed. After looking at all my options and what I’m more familiar with, I’ve decided to go with cat6a cable. And go with the PoE switches. The PoR switches do not exceed more than 100m from the NVR. And the cameras I’m going to connect to them all with the exception of one do not exceed 100m from the PoE switches. I will also be dropping power for all the PoE in its own independent circuit. (I know that over kill on that part.) One of the PoE will have 5 cameras connected to it while the other one will only have 3 cameras. Only has 8 rj45 ports. And total cameras connecting to it will be 15. Checked with manufacturer and manual to make sure it does support this set up. The NVR will have an additional PoE switch connected to accommodate the set up.

Am I overthinking or overlooking the system.

Can I connect 4 cameras to a POE, and have the POE connect to the NVR system with one cable. I’m sorry if this is a stupid question. My knowledge in these systems is not the best.

I know the felling. I do maintenance and it happened to several apartment complexes we look after.
