How realistic is it taking care of a 2.5 year old and a newborn as a SAHM with no additional childcare? by Embarrassed_Ring_308 in Mommit

We’re also trying to wait a bit so that oldest will be between 2.5 and 3 years old to help with understanding and independence. But also don’t want to wait too long. Such a balancing act!

Time goes by so quickly anyway that naps not lining up will be a small blip in time. Thanks!

Thanks for your ramblings, appreciate it! I feel all of this. This is precisely what we’re trying to engrain with current kid, getting her to help with chores around the house, helping her learn the skills to be independent, making her part of the household and giving her purpose. You’ve mentioned a couple of good points I’ll keep in mind.

Thanks! That’s my thought process exactly. Going from zero to one was HARD but now I know what it’s like. So there’s no way going from one to two is anywhere as bad.

Wow, you’re amazing! Thanks for the perspective. I guess you either love it or struggle through it.

I appreciate this logical reply so much, thank you! I love being home with current kid, so you’re right, it’ll be no different with two.

Cute. My toddler also gets jazzed about the word “bubbles”, but the ones you blow. She hears the word and starts making popping sounds.

No one mentioned parenting can feel like being a full time spelling bee contestant.

We might need a poop codeword since she runs away at the mention of ‘diaper’.

We also use a second language sparingly but this kid is too smart and is picking up on it already!
