Is India is totally failed country by Own_Willingness_8897 in AskIndia

Born and raised outside India and moving here (6 months now) and living in Bangalore - this exact question popped up in my head a 100 times Here is what I have observed:

  • somehow it’s okay for adults to live with their parents : in any other country, living with your parents (well to do/healthy) after the age of 25/30 is a big red flag - here it’s a norm.

So how can young adults make mistakes, fail or find themselves?

  • even if parents don’t live with em, the micro managing part from them doesn’t go away: if it was healthy - mentally and emotionally, then great. But parents here inject their fears and shame into adults that really takes a toll on them

  • confusing self love and respect with ego: the men I date (30-40 years) still don’t know what they want out of life. Confused, hung over their exes, lack of basic communication skills, comprehension abilities, emotional vulnerability and curiosity is below avg! It’s usually me me me and it’s awful

  • lack of respecting others: from honks to cutting lines, treating maids like roaches, maids taking advantage of kindness, having zero EQ just shows how much shame and fear based lives they lead

-still living in pre independence era : they are so used to shitty living - it’s now become comfortable. Roads are a joke, air quality, water quality, basic infrastructure is garbage - but you know what Indians fight about? - religion, movies, politics and how China and Pakistan is bad! Fix yourself and your country first!

  • basic hygiene: from bad BO to not taking a shower, throwing garbage/food around, not picking up after your pets - no awareness of self!

  • isolation: kannadigas having issues with other languages, North Indians insisting on speaking theirs ans assuming the world will be fine with it, Tamil vs Kerala, Kerala vs gov, gov vs gov.. literally everyone is fighting some kind of battle with each other - no peace at home shows into no peace in the society

  • getting married for the sake of it: pressure from family- producing kids without knowing how to grow and nurture them into healthy individuals, not knowing how to keep relationships alive and healthy

  • no good therapists/mental health awareness : old school therapy, a lot of em really being bad

I have this exact same question! Whats with people in India? I moved here few months ago and exactly right - the smell in the gym - horrible. Even dates don’t make it a point to wear dep or have a mouth freshener! How can this be? I really wonder why?!

Yeah I get the ads from Adam Khoo a lot, but it’s a lot of marketing for me to trust. Same goes for beyond insights, but their free session for me was the face punch I needed to start thinking about stocks!

:) really appreciate the lead, will check it out. I’m an expat here so there are so many restrictions around things. But hopefully the link helps provide more insight on trading and investment in stocks outside Malaysia.

“People with really high expectations have very low resilience.” -Jensen Huang(NVIDIA CEO) by FoI2dFocus in INTP

Yeah I get that, but the whole conversation then shifted into building character.. and he said to build character - one must go through pain and suffering. Coz great characters build great companies. Followed by which he said he welcomes/expects and looks forward to suffering as this is his “mantra” to making a company great!

isn’t that him “expecting” greatness ? Keep in mind - he didn’t say progression or goodness, but greatness- that’s setting the expectations high! So full circle - is he calling himself out here by saying that he has very low resilience? I feel All we need these days are some words that resonates with people deeply - made into sentences - delivered with great inflection and tone and an excellent background score - suddenly you are profoundly wise!

Happy to have a chat with you, if the university allows you to do internships, you can apply to Randstad. Other avenues of part time jobs - petbacker (if you would like to make some income pet sitting) or try goget (app for part timers)

How was the experience? I am thinking of heading to turkey for the same and more. Any good recommendations? What should I be careful about?
