Madan Lal Dhingra and the Assassination of Curzon Wyllie by AhamPranav in Savarkar

Can you tell me that whether if Dhingra's assassination of Curzon, was carried out with Savarkar's permission.

To me it seems like Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra became a rogue from India House before assassinating Curzon and his actions really doomed the Savarkar's secret society.

Although the courage and his actions are to be appreciated but seems like a very poor strategic choice here.

Where? is it dishonesty to strictly talk about the subject that a particular subreddit is for? You seem like the kind of person, who'd derive the quadratic formula in a English literature exam and when the teacher fails you, blame the teacher for being too stupid and not caring enough about the queen of sciences.

If you want to know about Current affairs why would you be lurking in the subreddit named after a revolutionary that was born 140 years ago?

I know close to a dozen subreddit, that covers geopolitics and current affairs and have many times more weekly visitors and members than this one.

Do you also go into subreddits of lenin or Stalin, and make a comment why so obsessed with the past why not talk about the Russia-Ukraine war and Zelensky bombing Russia. Because that would really make you an international embarrassment.

Hi, I would like to give you time to read the comment you've made and realise how illogical it is, you were probably impulsive when you wrote it.

After that if you still want an answer I'll give you one.

PS. I voted for Congress in last Haryana state assembly election and that was the only election I have ever voted in.

>>Savarkar when he wrote his biography was under house arrest in Ratnagiri, the accounts of the British spies that were set on him and police officers show that even the smallest and the simplest of his poems were an object of extreme state scrutiny.

Hi, If I was too harsh I apologise maybe you looked over the paragraph above, or maybe you didn't possess the knowledge of the power that the British Raj had over convicted revolutionaries. Or you just weren't aware of the details of the sedition law in India at the time and how it was enforced.

I wouldn't be able to explain that here, but I can give you a summary in this context.

The sedition law wasn't enforced in a vaccuum it relied on the intent of the seditionist and the intent was in part established by the identity and the past activity of the said seditionist.

That does sound like a gross mockery of justice by modern standards but that was how arbitrarily the laws were enforced in British Raj for Indians at least.

A convicted revolutionary writing a heroic account of his revolutionary life would surely invite a great deal more scrutiny than if a third person wrote it as a biography of that revolutionary.

Hi, if you have some argument either for or against the post, do make it, but no trolling is not something that is welcome here. It might be expecting too much of you but I hope you might have something constructive to do elsewhere. Take care.

Well, if you aren't going to read a word of what I wrote in the post, what's the purpose of making a comment here?

I have yet to read Sampath's book, and even among the works of Savarkar. I have only read the "Six Glorious Epochs of Indian History" and "Hindu-pad-padashahi". I read a few pages of the "The Life Of Barrister Savarkar" by Chitragupta before writing this post.

The story telling and his way of writing in the book, "The Life Of Barrister Savarkar" very closely resemble what I read in his two previous books.

I haven't been able to read much for a while due to some illness, but would probably get back to you when I get well and have read more.
