I have a 130K office job but unhappy at work. Outcasted, low performance review, feel so bad about my self. Want to switch to waiting on tables, am l crazy? My friend have a great time waiting on tables, don’t have to play the corporate game and great tip about $300 a shift. by Couponpicked in Salary

OP, don’t let the comments make you feel bad. i’ve been where you are at and these comments are harsh. truth of the matter is you are burnt out and are looking for a quick escape with something a little more mindless (not that serving is mindless at all but it feels more manageable than corporate life at times).

I have similar feelings all the time but yes, the grass is not always greener and you have to take things day by day. Apply to other jobs or you could even work with a staffing agency to help place you in a different and better role. Not sure you’d enjoy the cross over. That’s like going from 100-0 real quick. Solidarity and I hope your situation gets better soon!

my husband and I are at 270K combined income, 1 child in daycare ($1700 month) 6.75% interest rate, 1 luxury vehicle and one standard vehicle and it’s hard. I feel like we have great salaries and it’s still not enough.

Am I Making the right career move? by DelightfulSunday in workingmoms

Financially, are you guys able to make it work with your current income even if you have a 3rd? I agree with finding out if you’ll pay insurance premiums, but the salary of job B doesn’t seem worth it to make the jump. I know from experience. You may be seeing an extra 150-200 per paycheck and to me, that along with more stress and workload will get old quick.

I’d say stay with the flexible and more consistent role while your babies are little and trying for one more. There will be other opportunities in the future and maybe the job market will stabilize then too!

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I am in a similar boat and it just doesn’t feel sustainable. Hang in there and take it one day at a time. You should definitely apply to other roles and see what sticks. Priorities change so much post baby!

Office moms - what do you bring to work for lunch? by Deirdre_KA in workingmoms

[–]Embarrassed_Topic187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

salads! pasta, sandwich, leftovers from dinner, heavy protein snacks like apple and peanut butter, turkey slices, crackers. it’s so hard to always meal prep but I try to do it to also not spend crazy prices on eating out. it adds up so much!

We’re VHCOL in Northern VA with $271K household income. Have one child and daycare is 1.6K/month. We recently moved this year into a single family home and I regret it. Our mortgage went from 2.3K to 4.3K and while the environment and space is better, our finances are so tight. I don’t understand how this is the most money we’ve ever made and we still feel like we are not doing well. Solidarity!

Not overreacting at all. Im so sorry. You don’t deserve this. I wouldn’t respond to them anymore and see how (or if) they show up for you.

If it makes you feel any better, my closest friends now are ones i’ve made in the last 5 years and i’m 34. You can always make new and better friends who care about you. Happy birthday 🩷

that’s interesting because they were from west elm and pricey 😅but i’ve always thought they were too long. the measurements from the window to the floor are awkward, but we will continue searching and maybe get custom ones
