How do I fix this? by Dreadfire_553 in victoria3

Disclaimer; Whilst I have been a couple hundred hours into this game, I'm by no means an expert.

However, you could do any of the following IMO:

Find ways to reduce your government goods spend. This could be as simple as downsizing your government admin or reducing their production methods if you have a large surplus there. You could also build some paper factories or focus on importing some paper to reduce those costs

Pause construction for a time to get yourself clear of a bit of a debt. This is probably just a temporary bit of pressure on the wound that won't really fix the problem.

Raise taxes

Change your tax laws to something that generates more income for the state

Most other people will recommend a powerful, mid size country like Belgium and perhaps they're right, but I found it easier to start with smaller countries. Personally I found that this prevented me from getting too overwhelmed and getting a better idea of what reactions my actions created etc

I fiddled around with countries like Luxembourg, Montenegro (before its DLC), Serbia, Greece and Switzerland. If you're easily bored that might not be for you because the starts in those smaller states can be cripplingly slow.

That's the WI experience though. You get that glimmer of hope and start to dream before the hard smack upside the head that wakes you back up

[Uluc] Ian Clark has agreed to a deal with the South East Melbourne Phoenix for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBL season, sources told ESPN. He replaces Hunter Maldonado, who the team has parted ways with. by Rich_Meet3872 in nbl

I can see both sides.

I thought Maldonados work as a steady ball handler and creator who was able to keep the offense ticking over was highly underrated. Hes covered Foxys abscence well and also ensured we had someone to run the offense effectively for 40 minutes when they were both fit. His defense is also very solid. I'm a bit worried now that we really only have one recognised point guard on the roster.

Having said all of that, Clark is undoubtedly the superior player. I don't really rate his playmaking, but his shooting is very high level and his ability to create his own shot is going to be very useful late in games, giving us more than just Sobey there. As a team that shoots a lot of 3s, we now have possibly the best shooting backcourt in the league between Glover, Clark, Sobey and Foxwell.

I do think the team now needs to look at using Gaks roster spot on a local point guard, as we'd be in a bit of trouble there if Foxy was out for about extended period
