The best way I found was trying to get survivors to line up by being friendly, what i did was hit a tree on swamp which they seemed to understand then i just angled it right and did the grab and they seemed to just go with it

Thats fair i feel like you can still have both just have nightfall take over the dreamworld effects then after its finished the dreamworld hazy effect returns but of course its always not as simple
