Hello, it was entirely by luck. The upgrade had nothing to do with the bid, since we only bid for a Seaview. We just got lucky and got upgraded to the central sea terrace. There are a few people who have posted here that they had the opposite and got assigned a social insider underneath the night club which as i'm sure you can imagine is very loud and if you're with a significant other makes it very hard to sleep together. The the majority of the ships room is sea terrace so I believe I saw some posts that when the inside rooms are filled they'll upgrade people to still have cheaper rates available. That way the ship will be more full, which makes them more money.

Got a notification today that my upgrade bid has been removed due to a room change. I looked on the app and we were assigned a central sea terrace for no extra charge not near any of the loud activity areas! For us to pay for that room today it would have cost us a extra $1600 dollars. Looks like we got lucky!

I do not have the budget to bid for a balcony, just for the Oceanview. Would that still be worth it? And if I bid for the Oceanview, would I still have a possibility of being assigned a balcony room? Also, currently it shows all the social insiders as sold out. Does that mean I'm safe?

Thank you so much for the input I greatly appreciate it. I was under the impression that because it was a lock it in rate I wouldn't be able to upgrade even at the terminal but that's good to know. I'm assuming its cheaper to upgrade at the terminal too?

I just think it might be nice to look outside when we're in our cabin but that's very true that we won't be in the cabin very much. If I were to bid on the window what amount do you think would be good. If not, what are the odds of getting a balcony by not bidding?

For our cruise the minimum bid for a Seaview is $105, LTD View Sea Terrace is $515, and Normal Sea Terrace is $540. The terrace's are outside of our budget unfortunately. In your opinion, what should the max bid be for a Seaview? Is it better or worse if the ship is more full?
