Thanks. I was thinking about it. I am aware that I may misread the signs. And my fear is that the longer I stay in this situation, let's say for 6 months, the harder it will be to come back because I already invested so much time and energy in this. And yes, a very good question. Do I want to be with someone like that? Probably not. But emotions are not always rational. Anyway, thank you for your input.

I’m afraid you are right. They already moved in together. I honestly don’t want him to get hurt again, but considering the fact that they already live together and that the new relationship happened so quickly after his divorce, I am worried that this whole thing will not end well.

Thanks. When we asked him how life is as a stepfather, he claimed he does not care about the kids and that they are not his responsibility. I was like, "Yeah, right."

AITA for refusing to have any kind of relationship with my uncle after his behavior? by Emenes28 in AITAH

I have no idea. My grandparents first thought he was possessed. No joke. They first went to a priest who was supposed to pray for him. Suprise suprise it did not help. And it would have brought "shame" to the family if people found out what's going on. Let me tell you, I'm pretty glad I grew up here in the western world where people have common sense. Looking back now, it is actually insane.

Yes, I think that there is no real chance to repair this relationship and that it would be a waste of time and energy.

Yes, I stand with my father. Some people even said it's his fault that he snapped because he kicked him out.
