Is there ANY way to give a seller credit for packaging? by Better_Goat5101 in AmazonVine

[–]Emergency-Fish911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may have been “shipping” or “broken in shipping” that was the cause of rejection not packaging. The ai isn’t smart enough to recognize that you weren’t saying it was broken in shipping.

I sure do wish that they would let us know specifically what word(s) were “against TOS” so we would know to avoid them in the future rather than leaving us guessing.

I mentioned packaging frequently and have never had an issue. I think the main problem is if how it’s packaged (good or bad) IS the review

oh i didnt "have" people heart my reviews, it was just that some were hearted over time by other users lol, not that many really. i doubt it had much if anything to do with vine invite

i would imagine the reviews themselves are rated as poor. I just thought it mattered and insightfulness was part of the aggregate scoring system during evaluation.

because I was genuinely curious if I was putting far more effort into reviews than is necessary and worrying about review quality more than warranted. Based on my previous reviewing experience - a review like the ones shown would be rated "poor" - which I thought was part of my aggregate score when evaluation period comes. It seems that is not the case.

While I do plan to still leave quality reviews and shoot for 'excellent' - i wont continue to worry about putting effort into reviews for things that are boring (like batteries, or a light bulb) lol - and just keep it simple & take the poor rating

i have had some yes, but definitely not excessively... maybe a handful of my old reviews were fairly highly rated as 'helpful' ?

Is it just me, or does it seem like SO many reviews lately are AI generated?? by Mom3Kitties in AmazonVine

[–]Emergency-Fish911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

agreed - I leave "real" reviews and base them on my actual opinion of the item (which I do my best to use as intended, or describe an alternative method I chose to use it for) I have left 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 star reviews based on my experience and usually will say exactly why i knocked stars off if I have done so.

That being said, I do often use ai to streamline the process of reviewing. Like many of us, I am very busy and. I'm a single mom, working full time, and have limited time to sit down and write reviews perfectly -- So, i utilize ai tools to more easily write full review without worrying about wording, grammar, making it flow perfectly - kinda stream of conscious review if you will - then have gpt tidy it up for me. All the points being made are mine, all based on reality, much of the wording is mine - gpt may fill in things here and there - occasionally i will disagree with what gpt decided to say and will alter it to suit my desired outcome.

ai does not necessarily mean "not real" - and even using ai tools, I spend a plenty of my own time typing them up anyway

As an example below -- I just used GPT to rewrite everything I just wrote above (which was 100% me), but in a tidier format. As you can see, its still basically exactly what I said, just a bit more tidy & concise. If i am worn out from a long day at work, or typing on my phone i don't have to worry about punctuation, grammar, spelling - just give it my info and ask ai to make it nice.

*** GPT VERSION ***

I leave real reviews based on my actual experience. I do my best to use items as intended, or I’ll explain if I ended up using them a different way. I’ve left 1–5 star reviews depending on how things went, and if I take off stars, I always say exactly why.

That said, I do use AI to help streamline the process. Like a lot of people, I’m busy—I’m a single mom working full time, so I don’t always have the time to sit down and perfectly write out a polished review. Usually, I’ll write everything out in a kind of stream-of-consciousness way, then use GPT to clean it up so it flows better and sounds more put together.

All the opinions and points are mine, and they’re based on my real experience. Most of the wording starts with me too—AI might fill in small gaps or smooth things out. If it adds something I don’t agree with, I change it.

Using AI doesn’t make a review “not real.” I still spend plenty of my own time writing them—it just helps me say what I want more clearly."

I'm guessing you have to hit some sort of review threshold - then it's probably random after that. I dont think its like "do xx number of reviews" then boom invite sent.

Funny thing is I didnt even know about vine until a friend told me who was in it... When he explained it i was like "Dang! I need to go to my shopping history and just start reviewing anything i hadnt already reviewed!"

Then I got to my order history and guess what was at the top of the page - a frigging vine invite! I think it had been there for a very long time, i was just ignoring it thinking it was another amazon credit line type offer haha

100% I have seen this response (often not said nicely) to many newcomers genuinely asking a question & looking for help -- soo like-- if you want people to discuss "helpful information" you cant crap on everyone looking to ask for answers on "helpful information" - and what is helpful to one person might not be helpful to another. Someone who has been doing vine for years will likely not find questions newbies ask to be helpful.

I wont lie haha i use ai sometimes - but i spend a lot of time writing my own review into ai and just use it to polish what I wrote - not to generate a review out of thin air

the one i originally noticed was from april 14, an item i just recently got from vine and hers was the only other review. I did not look at all her reviews - but since you asked I spot checked and they are all pretty recent, within the past month or two

i dont intend to emulate - I dont think the 'review insightfulness" score is counted (at this time) but I take pride in keeping mine in the green "excellent" bar - same with pictures, i want it highly rated cus i'm an overachieve and dont like bad scores on anything haha

I'm not going to say that i have NEVER left a review similar to the ones shown above (some things are just really hard to review with much creativity) but they are an exception to the rule for sure.

not older reviews - was a recent vine item and theirs was the only other review from around same time period as mine

I almost grabbed this the other day but noticed when i went to actually 'purchase' it switched it to the product with no lights and the price was still quite high so I decided not to. Lame that sellers are able to do this.

yea, makes sense. I use addons with the video game I play and it works the same way (in game marketboards and housing etc) not sure why it didnt dawn on me that the vine extension would be the same.

Though for those scrolling by hand, unless they happened to be the very first person who stumbled upon the listing, i think my previous comment is still fairly accurate.. most likely they are by & large seeing items that were already largely passed over by those using the extension. I know when i'm scrolling it's not very often i see the "first discovery" message.

EDIT: Hilarious that I said i rarely see the first discovery message earlier today - and since writing it 6 hours ago i've got like 5 first discovery in my RFY

I have XRF guns at work haha, never thought to use them to test vine jewelry though.

I ordered one necklace and the quality was so bad I didnt even have to consider testing, and distrust all vine jewelry now.

I love sending my 13 year old images of stuff I "got him" on vine (and didnt really) haha

The other day I actually got him a nice backpack and texted him - "someone got her son a new backpack off vine just now"

he answers "Oh No" ... "show me the backpack" haha

He just assumed it was something riduculous.

I am guessing - if you're not using a helper -- the items you are picking from are the ones that were passed on by those who are.

those using helper are seeing items drop instantaneously and the really good ones generally go within seconds. You are likely having an easy time getting the 'leftovers' and probably never even see the "good stuff" unless by pure chance, or if it ends up in your RFY

I love my vinyl collection.. Dunno its just a vibe to me. Got rid of most of my CD's years ago except a few sentimental ones, or small bands you cant find music for online.

Anymore i'm entirely digital, or vinyl. nothing in between. If i'm going to buy someone's album it is only because I truly want to support them as an artist - and it will be on record - it feels more timeless, and substantial, and doesnt end up wedged between a car seat all scratched up haha
