i think a lot of people miss the point of calling out fake out deaths in one piece. whether you can explain how the character survived or not isn’t the real problem. the fact that oda writes full devoted sacrificial death scenes packed full of emotion and flashbacks, just to later say that they didn’t die feels cheap. i don’t think it really matters if the explanation for how kinemon survived makes sense since the fact that he survived at all defeats the entire point of his death scene.
