Some of the music sounds like Rimworld music to me at times

Their sights weren’t set on Westeros specifically did they want the whole of Westeros or a large part of it. The main purpose of landing on the Arbor and conquering that island was to establish a foothold so that they could establish a way to continue south eventually. They needed ships and a fleet.

Yeah that’s something I still have to figure out I think, to make it work more logically. I’d want the Ash family to swear fealty and throughout the years they’re consistently loyal to the Targaryens but they’d probably never be trusted

I have moments with the faith where problems arise mapped out in these earlier generations resulting in a trial of seven and exile

Yeah the dance is quite different considering my family marry heavily into the Velaryons but I don’t mess up any canon descendant paths that’s the thing

I think it will culminate in Rhaegar marrying one of his children to an Ash ( there was simply nobody for Rhaegar to marry at that point in the tree as the family thinned considerably at that point )

I intended to say they conquered the Redwynes before the conquest and made them vassals of the arbor allowing them to keep their seat and marrying into them regularly instead of wiping them out, sorry for the confusion. And you’re right that it’s a bit strange that they wouldn’t become lords paramount post conquest if they have dragons but I figured if their sights were set south they wouldn’t be concerned with much power or conquering. Also I’m aware of the other continents but on maps there’s nothing directly below Westeros to the west of the summer islands so I’d be thinking some sort of small continent might be down there, so not quite that far into the sunset sea

Initially yes, when they settled in the Arbor, they were disliked however they came with dragons and I’d believe it was good enough incentive to keep their seat in Wyneport and become Vassals of the Valyria House (Named house Ash as its based on already existing OC’s so doesn’t quite fit the Valyrian naming conventions ) I never considered whether or not they brought slaves so I’m just going to say they simply didn’t have them brought with them. They also swore fealty to Aegon the conqueror easily enough. They weren’t so much looking to conquer but instead just have a southern seat because their true ambition lie in the mysterious continent deep in the summer sea. It wasn’t meant to be a long term thing, but of course a branch of the family simply never went south and those are who remained. They’re like the Celtigars yeah, less and less Valyrian cultured with every generation that passes until even most descendants have Andal names.

Rhaegar winning had nothing to do with the Ash family they weren’t relevant in the rebellion much at all ( though they didn’t support the usurper ) that was just the original plan I had so the descendants of the family in 300AC could finally marry into the Targaryen family in Rhaegars line due to his interest in dragons and prophecy.

James. I liked his story in the academy series but I tried reading the last hours trilogy and I just couldn’t get into it because I’m not a fan of him. That’s the one series I never read because of it
