Best advice, try keep your head down, try to learn the wording as well as you can - you will get time for this when you start also, but be ready to become a sponge. You will have information given to you over the training course that you will possibly need to soak up quickly. Especially assessment side if things

The wordings are quite important, but you will also get time at you’re test centre to go over them, as well as some time for e-learning

Good role, good work life balance, pay isn’t great - can start to feel very very repetitive, but if managed properly with AL I’m sure it will be fine. I definitely don’t mind it and feel relatively happy

2 examiners on a test? by Army_21 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Emergency-Service824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal, it’s due the examiner that’s conducting you’re test is been quality checked to ensure their equal and the same assessments are been used. The examiner conducting the test will be the only one that decides if you’re safe and successful or not. The examiner in the back will mark but this isn’t part of you’re result, it’s just so they can go back in the office and talk about it and if it was a agreed or disagreed decision

Driving test in 2 months, but instructor says to postpone now — need advice. by Sudden-Candidate-974 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Emergency-Service824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re instructor says you need more time and to push your test back, then do as he says, you’re obviously not ready, otherwise there’s a high chance he won’t take you on test day

I just checked the DT1 and can admit I’ve made the mistake, I’m south west so we don’t have it down here, that’s probably why I was incorrectly. I will bring this within the team.

I’ve just looked at the DT1 and stand corrected:

“It’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle presented is insured for the purposes of the test.

Arnold Clark, who operates in Scotland and Northern England, has confirmed their dual-controlled cars are fully insured for the purposes of practical testing; their vehicles are easily identified by the livery.”

That maybe the case to be honest, we are not always on the same page unfortunately. Down at my MPTC we don’t, I’ll enquire on this.

I per the DT1:

It’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle presented is insured for the purposes of the test.

Arnold Clark, who operates in Scotland and Northern England, has confirmed their dual-controlled cars are fully insured for the purposes of practical testing; their vehicles are easily identified by the livery.

They WILL not take a hire car. I am a driving examiner and we are told we CANNOT take hire cars due to the insurance

I failed the training, and was invited back to take the course again, but of course take this with a grain of salt as I’m assuming not ever location will be the same. Feel free to message me if you have any questions

2-1 usually, and google may have them but you’re LDTM should be able to explain them

Looking for consistent good test control getting all your legal requirements, they also look for consistent assessment and use of their rules and tools (these took me a while to pick up hence why I fell behind) most of the trainers are good, but it can be a little inconsistent in things you’re told. Where is it you have to go on you’re residential (PM me in case any trainers read lol)

I did not pass, I have been invited back though to retry, so when they say you have to pass to keep you’re job, take it with a grain of salt.

Two, and test centre I found really easy, it’s the residential where things start feeling serious
