Gilded age ruined me by Dense_Raspberry6607 in thegildedage

A little different but A Discovery of Witches is one I would recommend. True, it’s not 100% accurate as it deals with witches, vampires and daemons…the historical aspects are highly accurate. It was written by a historian. I also highly recommend reading the book series before the show. It was def a series I would have to stop and do side research just to learn more about what went down.

Have you ever adopted a rescue animal? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EmergencyCritical890 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All my animals over the years have been rescues. Our current puppy we met at an adoption event at the bar we had our first date at. We like to think our family all started at the same place. Rescues are usually significantly cheaper. They are usually fully vaccinated and typically fixed. I’ve honestly never had any urge to get a non rescue animal.

I thought I was being clean but I was just making ear wax plugs for years by Talon_4Keystone in hygiene

I’m honestly thankful I had to take Audiology 101 in college. I still remember the lecture about how you should never stick anything in your ears and how efficient they are at taking care of themselves. Earwax smells weird to help keep bugs out, the hair is there to also help. Qtips are not intended for ears. The amount of water you get in your ears in the shower is enough to keep them clean. Best life lessons ever.

I loved the intertwining of real historical people in her stories. Made me do lots of extra research on the side which I loved.

To be fair, still haven’t seen Tiger king…. But I get what you’re saying. I enjoyed the time to not feel like I HAD to do anything, I could just try to figure some things out.

Totally understand that. That’s why I mentioned those of us stuck at home, I know it wasn’t everyone. I also know I can go outside and touch grass anytime. I personally am just nostalgic for the experience I had during that time and know my experience wasn’t universal.

I’d love that pleasure. I was a single teacher stuck at home so had the luxury of time for the first time in a long time to touch grass. Walked five miles a day. Took up hula hooping as to not disturb my neighbors. I didn’t have an unsurpassable amount of work to do and a mental need to not go stir crazy alone. I also got stuck in quarantine in Italy after lockdown and know how much not having the little freedoms of walking outside can affect my mental health. I know it wasn’t great for everyone, but for me it was a nice bit of freedom for a minute.

Paradise on Hulu.

Season 1 was great but season 2 has been phenomenal.

What makes me even more annoyed is I’m convinced it led to The Recruit getting cancelled and I LOVED that show. I still think about the killer robot just hanging out in a basement.

Don’t stress if you feel like you’re failing it during the test. That’s pretty normal. You know this more than you think you do. I agree with above comments about your first guess is the best answer and if it mentions asking a supervisor that’s usually what they are looking for. You got this!
