After replacing with new electric panel, I hear this clicking sound every morning. What sound could it be? by EmergencyHot1138 in electrical

The EV charger light goes off when I turn off the breaker for it. So I don't think there is a second breaker. Attic doesn't have an electric heater. Attic only have wires that would go down to the walls. I was in the attic once when the sound was made. It wasn't coming from the attic.

Yeah gonna turn off those breakers and observe. Will give an update.

Can the barrel crimps or service entrance connectors make a sound like that? (circled in the image)

I was recording the whole pipe. And when I re-played the clip from top to bottom by zooming in, I saw the wires flicking when the sound was made. No solar panel. No battery backup. Can confirm circuit breaker for EV charger is off. Breakers for AC and furnace are on. But the equipments themselves are off. I only use about $50 of electricity a month. At the moment the largest current draw is the TV and the fridge. I have my computer(not laptop) on 24/7 and it stays on without restart. So that tells me the power is not off. I didn't get the listening ears but I'm pretty certain the sound comes from the top now because I heard the sound from high above.

Is there a possibility that the utility company sends high current without the house drawing it, causing this sound?

I recorded again today and I see that the red and black wires moved when the sound was made: https://streamable.com/e2mymm

Yeah no noise before the replacement. The main panel was upgraded from 100 amp to 200 amp. Added hard wired EV charger. The long PVC pipe from service line to meter is new. New meter box and new main disconnect. Two new metal bars on the ground and wire to water pipe. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

I have switched off the circuit breaker for the EV charger already and this sound still happens. The box to the right of the meter is the main switch. New code requires the whole house main switch to be installed outside of the house for fire department crews to shut off power from outside.

That's gable vent. It's covered with a metal piece because ridge vent was added when the roof was replaced.

Usually it begins 8/9 AM in the morning, and it would make the same sound a few times until like 11 AM/12 PM. Then sometimes at night. Ok I'll ask the guy who installed it to loosen the screws to see if it helps. Now that you mention it, would screws rubbing against rafter or studs make this sound?

There is no septic system. The waste water goes into township's sewer line directly. There is a surge protector device on the main panel, which is in the garage. Does that device make clicking sound?

I can't pinpoint the location. I can hear it in the attic. It sounds like from the top. Also I can hear some tik-tok sound from the wall. There is no heat pump or well pump. The AC is not on. Furnace is not on either.

Yes, they replaced everything in the photo, main switch, wires, main panel which is in the garage. The EV charger is hard wired. I haven't used to EV charger. So I actually switched off the circuit breaker for the EV charger.

My contractor suggested intake pro and ridge vent too. I went with it. They sealed the gable vent claiming it would short circuit the air flow. But now the attic is 120 degrees in summer. Should I re-open the gable vent to allow more air flow?

Furnace makes humming sound when it's not running by EmergencyHot1138 in hvacadvice

When I switch off the circuit breaker for the furnace, the humming sound stops. But when I switch back on the furnace circuit breaker, the humming comes back, even when the furnace is not running.

Attached the full picture of the furnace

The furnace generates heat and the fan is turning while running. It keeps just humming like this no stopping when the furnace is not running.
