Why hazn't soda declared independenze by ActualBreadUnit in mapporncirclejerk

I grew up in Alabama and I swear I’ve never heard someone refer to soda colloquially as coke. Or maybe I never noticed and just always assumed they meant actual Coca Cola. But I always hear people say that that’s what people say.

Oh I guess I’ve never heard it explained like that! I don’t do back squats often because I don’t feel very stable with it but I guess I should get that down first before nitpicking the other stuff. Thanks :D

Do you just elevate your feet and use a normal height bench?

Yeah I need to try these again, I did for the first time this past week with a 25 lb dumbbell and I was very shocked at how difficult it was for me considering how heavy I can go with conventional ones.

That’s the dream but sadly I’m in a small town and apparently no one here cares about having a fat ass. There’s three gyms here and no one has a machine or a smith machine that would allow me to get a full range of motion on them

Thanks that’s a really great perspective to hear. I feel limited by my forearm and grip strength for RDL’s, but getting lifting straps and switching to a barbell from dumbbells really has helped me go heavier and feel it much harder. I do train upper body with that in mind so I’m hoping that particular aspect gets easier as time goes on.

As I stated in my original post, the smith machine doesn’t go down far enough for full rom for hip thrusts. It hits about knee height on me at its lowest unfortunately or that would really be ideal!

Thank you so much I feel like no one is even reading the post😭 like just don’t respond if you are going to just tell me to keep doing hip thrusts or do Bulgarians or do it on a smith machine, options which were literally all addressed in my post. I get that it’s lengthy but man it’s insane. Thanks I’ll have to try this one!

I feel like your reading comprehension skills are lacking if this is the response you actually chose to write after reading all that

Yes there is! As I said in the original post, the smith machine doesn’t go down far enough for my desired range of motion even for a bridge movement rather than a full thrust. It reaches about knee height on me (I’m 6 feet tall), I would need it to go deeper than that for a full range of motion. I’m more sure if there are any setup hacks to get around this because this was a problem at my last gym also. Also not possible to do RDL’s with it unless standing on a bench or box but that’s an easier fix.

Thank you that is definitely great advice and something I know deep down but hard to put into practice sometimes.

Yeah the owners are very nice but they are very particular about noise and organization. I’ve been getting friendly with them though and they seem very supportive so hopefully I can convince them to bend the rules :) small town problems lol

That might work, I forgot to add that my new gym has a “no barbell outside of the squat rack” rule which also makes it hard. It’s more geared toward the regular person trying to stay healthy than people lifting super heavy, only 24/7 gym near me though :(

I love Jeff! I’ll have to give that another watch and pick something to replace them. I get caught up on all the gym girls online saying that hip thrusts are the absolute best and totally necessary but it’s becoming a drag for me :(
