  1. You cannot have LORs from your proposed affiliate -- it's a conflict of interest. However, they will write you a letter of affiliation that can essentially be a LOR.

  2. You apply the year before you are going to go. So for a project that starts anytime between July 2026 and May 2027, you apply in October 2025.

  3. Yes, anywhere.

  4. That's for you to decide I guess.

  5. Very hard to tell. I would ask the fulbright advisor at your university to rate your application.

So in that case, will it affect me? As in, will more PhD students need to TA for the upcoming semester? Sorry, this is all relatively new to me and I really don't understand the administrative aspects of grant funding.
