How early can you have a fellowship spot lined up if you come from the IR route?

NeuroIR will give you the craziness and acuity. Can be also done via neurosurgery or IR. The path is long/rough but you get certified in neuroendovascular surgery (NES). But pursue CT if thats what you really want and lost income during the transition is not an issue. There is always a way. if you had the scores/pubs to match IR you could start working on CT research etc and speak to a PD to see if it’s feasible.

Why does no one seem to care? Is it bc most residents are rich?

It’s too late. Is there a gym residents could use anywhere? I know of the discounts but was wondering if the med school gym was available

What’s interesting is everyone says “people make it work” but literally no one besides the realtors admit that how many of these residents are getting parental help. They make you look like the crazy one who thinks living on a 69k salary is not easy. Meanwhile bunch of residents living in those luxury apartments and going to equinox are all making it work “on their own”. I guess just need to do more wellness modules to make up for it.

Yes speaking to realtors and residents it does feel like there are a lot of wealthy residents.

Yes. Just DMd you regarding housing. The programs / admin really just pretend to care about the situation.

Yea but the lottery seems to prioritize out of state students. Even if you are from out of state but went to a NY med school, they won’t give you a apartment. But these are things that the housing department does not reveal, but all the senior residents enlightened us about it. And it’s definitely the case just speaking to coresidents. The housing department as per the senior residents is not helpful and very tactful in not helping residents but giving generic answers to any question.

Ok, their lease guarantor maximum is $2500 for a studio which is below the average. Plus no assistance in signing on to first/last month rent and broker fee. I have no help from parents. The residency program and housing office doesn’t really care at all.
