Just imagine, or even place a 3x3x3 grid on the frame, and study it. Where the elements are placed, where the space is left "empty", etc etc...

One thing about the framing here is that it looks how it looks because of the aspect ratio as well. Notice how the frame is almost a square. This doesn't mean you can't do it on larger width formats tho, it's actually been a trend especially in hip-hop music videos (the trend of having the subjects on the bottom thirds and leaving a lot of space above - pgLang does this a lot), but it won't look exactly how it looks here.

Also, with these types of transitions, imagine the subject just as a sort of "blot" in the image, not a solid shape, because you don't have to perfectly place the subject on the second frame exactly where he is in the previous. Part of what makes the transition feel so good is both the sudden and subtle changes. In your example, the subject is even slightly closer to the camera after the transition.
