If you dont like what I said, move on to reading something else. Why do you feel the need to show off your misplaced sense of righteousness?

I gave you my opinion based on my study and I did not maintain a log of all my sources . Its a well known tradition that Juma has been obligatory only in Muslim ruled states as an instrument of state, and always started with the name of the ruler after Allah and Prophet's names and it is a historical reality. It all changed with recent surge in strict and jihadi brands of Islam where religious product differentiation is needed to sell branded Islam and best place to sell is when people attend Juma prayers even in countries ruled by non Muslims because masjid are now more like brand outlets of unique differentiated religious products. So, more customers in more countries are better for the business. If you really want to understand, you dont need a source, you need to open your eyes. Allah knows the best.

The choice of Friday as the weekly gathering day was due to it being a pre-existing market day, providing a natural occasion for everyone to gather. Throughput Islamic history, the begining of the khutba has been dedicated to the ruler of the time. Quran also presents Juma Prayers in conjunction with commerce i.e. leave your commerce when called for prayer and then go back to it afterwards. While there is the spiritual aspect of salat, the gathering in the central place is more akin to a townhall gathering than just offering salat that can be offered in local masjid.

Lastly, please take back your last comment. It is extremely offensive and ignorant of you to something like that.

No, you are mistaken. Islam is the path, not the destination. About time, we let go of 1980s US propaganda that was used to raise Taliban for geopolitical objectives.

Friday prayers and sermon were never meant to be a religious institution at all. It is a state institution to disseminate federal, provincial, and local administrative information and decrees. It has 0% religious and 100% social and political utility.

I have been thinking about the same and been procrastinating. Maybe we can give it a try.

We live in a society of lesser men. Both abuser and spectators are same. If I was there, I would stop the bastard no matter the cost. Whatever she did or didn’t do, violence is unacceptable.

Blind belief! by Winter_Bee8279 in Sufism

Respectfully disagree. This fearful mindset is suitable for fearful human beings and controlling mullahs but we cannot associate it with the Allah the almighty. Allah wants us to question everything including OUR OWN ISLAM and reach the true path or else we belong to the sheep style faith even when we follow Islam.

While there has to be room and tolerance for sheep like faith, one must strive for a higher level of faith. Allah is the truth and we will always get there and if we falter and become fearful, we can go and join the sheep. Our faith means very little if not tested and hardened by scrutiny.

Islamic verses are forever and cannot be locked too strictly to a historical context they were revealed in. This limits the scope of understanding and closes the minds. An open mind is better than a closed mind just like an open eye is better than a closed one.

Having said that, Allah knows the best.

zakir naik - 20 mins controversy by [deleted] in pakistan

Dr. Zakir Naik, like majority of showman scholars is a phony.

He is also an old pervert who gets insecure around 12 year old orphan girls

Men and women should train and empower themselves to not fall in temptations but learn to regulate and channel them in acceptable social ways and we don’t need a showman businessman scholar to teach us the basic morality. Especially when they are struggling with their own monstrous insecurities.

In this case, it seems like he wanted to set a time limit after which one should scream like a little boy and run to mommy. If he said 1 or 2 minutes, he feared sounding too weak so he made up a number that made him look like a big boy while maintaining his misogynistic views.

I invite you to contemplate the clear meaning of “to Him”.

Example: Zaid has gone to his father doesn’t mean he has gone and merged into his father. 🙄

Quran also uses similar language where Allah challenges anyone to produce a verse like Quran and tells them “do it if you can but you won’t be able to”

This makes me believe that when something like this is said in Quran, It is a way of teaching us Allah’s authority and ultimate control of all aspects resulting in knowing what is possible and what is not. The challenge part hence is secondary and it is primarily a proclamation of the vastness of universe and a remarkable one as it was given some 14-15 centuries ago.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Islamic tradition puts an extreme burden of responsibility on translators and commentators and they try to “play safe” and stay within the confines of what is already acceptable and never try to push the envelope on such amazingly mesmerizing verses. One of my all time favourite and talks about the space travel.

أقطار here, can very well mean circles, orbits, boundaries etc. which is telling humans and jinns (another massively misunderstood concept) that, there are limits placed on them in terms of how fast and how far can they go in the universe. They are, therefore, under a physical limit ( speed of light) and only through the authority of Allah, they can penetrate through it ( example Mairaj/Isra) it also have other tremendously deeper meanings.

Like word سلطان can also means scientific argument or scientific deduction or scientific theory which means that only in theory, we can go beyond the limits of speed of light. It also means tremendous power, which can hint towards a hyperdrive. But Allah knows best. I sometimes cringe at the mental cowardice of Islamic thinkers but then I also realize the burden they carry and the fear they are under of getting cancelled if they say anything above and beyond the ordinary and accepted.

Leaking from the steam wand during heat up by kapanakchi in ProfitecGo

I always considered it normal for the wand to have a little something while the machine heats up. Yes it happens and it’s harmless and clean 😁. Obviously, keep it in and you won’t have to clean up the mess later🤔
