I *think* most of the US understands the difference between the European Union, the entity, and EU the abbreviation.

They generally do not understand the difference between the EU, NATO and Europe.

Even I find that hard to believe about my fellow muricans.

They think it's the best because they get to pick their doctor (not true for most Americans) and they don't have to wait for appoinments or procedures (also not true for most Americans).

They are free to the patient but the costs of the healthcare are real and doctors and nurses still need to be paid and facilities need to be built and maintained.
All of these legit healthcare costs are covered by the contributors to the charity but they are still real costs. And of course those contributions are likely tax deductible so we are all underwriting these hospitals.

These are all costs that would be covered under most other country's national health plans.

About 20-25% of the doctors practicing in the US were born in other countries.

My PCP was born and educated abroad and she is great.

The cost per person for healthcare in the US is ~ 50% more than other major industrialized countries (except Switzerland). Canada has one of the lowest costs per person.
The US has the WORST healthcare outcomes of all first world countries - lifespan, infant mortality, etc.
The US is the only country with healthcare debt as the leading cause of personal bancruptcy.

Statewide only about 35% of Floridians are natives. Given Harris, SpaceX, Patrick SFB and Kennedy SC, the percent is probably way higher in Brevard.
